Entry Level - Dry End Operations
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs any combination of following tasks in and about the Planer Mill.
- Must be able to distinguish different grades and lumber dimensions.�
- Must be able to stack lumber and apply strapping
- Must keep work area�clean
- Must be able to learn to stop and stop all equipment in assigned work area.
- Must be physically able to handle all task at�a rate that does not impede production,
- Should be able to communicate verbally and with hand signals.
- Must�willing to learn�Dry End Technician Level II�tasks for flexibility.
- Must be willing to work different shifts, overtime, and any other duties as assigned.�
�Must be able to read, write and understand written materials. Perform basic math computations as required for safety, quality, and production functions.
�Must meet minimum scores on SC WorkKeys Assessments - Locating Information or Graphics Literacy and Workplace Observation.
�The ability to follow oral and written instructions and policies.
�Static Strength -- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
�Trunk Strength -- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.

Front End Loader Operator
Operate various types of front end loaders and dozers such as but not limited Caterpillar or Kawasaki front end loaders to work at asphalt plants to load and feed the hopper of an asphalt plant with necessary materials to produce asphalt. May perform other duties as well at the plant or other job sites. May be working on multiple sites as the need arises.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Operating front end loader and other equipment to perform the various task at the plant or other types of grading projects.
Must be able to perform walk around inspections of equipment before operation.
May be asked to perform other duties such as labor work that may be associated with each project.
Job may entail working at night from time to time. Minimum Qualifications & Training:
One to two years of front end loader operations. May train the right candidate.
Ability to abide by precise instructions and strict buy necessary safety rules and policies.
Must be a reliable/trustworthy team player.
Maintain a good attendance and safety record. Tasks Essential to Job Functions:
Occasional standing and walking required.
Ability to work long periods of time while sitting.
Ability to operate equipment at recommended speeds and peaks of operation.

POSITION SUMMARY The Loader Operator safely operates heavy and large wheel front end loader in different areas of the quarry in order to perform customer loadout, load haul trucks to deliver to processing plant and move stockpiles as necessary. May also include operating other equipment in a safe and efficient manner in order to achieve production. Other plant operation duties may be assigned.

Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
Performs emergency and routine repairs and maintenance on plant equipment and structures at the site locations. May perform routine preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment.
Perform assignments outlined by supervisors and standard procedures are followed in the performance of duties. Work is inspected periodically for safety and economy in operation.
Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.
Assists in various projects at the plant locations to make sure production is maintained.
Responsible for maintaining the appearance of the plant and yard area by using general housekeeping practices.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Requires one year of experience as a skilled welder, or the completion of a recognized welding apprenticeship.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
Must be able to prioritize work.
2 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Ability to read and write.
