Function of Work:
To operate Herbicide spray equipment to accomplish an efficient and practical application of herbicides.
To operate mobile equipment (such as that enumerated below) to accomplish transportation, maintenance, or construction tasks.
Level of Work:
Direct supervision from Roadside Development District Coordinator during spraying season and from a foreman or other higher level maintenance, supervisory or administrative personnel.
Direct supervision over the operation of assigned herbicide equipment.
Functional supervision over Mobile Equipment Operators 1 and 2 connected with the herbicide equipment.
Location of Work:
Department of Transportation and Development, Office of Engineering and Operations (District offices).
Differs from Mobile Equipment Operator 2 by the complexity of the herbicide equipment and the responsibility for applying herbicides in accordance with Department of Agriculture and EPA policies and regulations.
Examples of Work
Operation of spray truck or other spray equipment using protective clothing, boots, gloves and/or respirators when necessary will be the primary and recurring functions of the job.
Testify in regards to law suits arising from complaints as to herbicide application.
Attends meetings and training courses relative to herbicide application as directed by the Department.
Maintain highway roadside and vegetation by proper application of herbicides and/or other chemical treatments.
Maintain vegetation at bridge railing, abutments, highway signs, traffic control devices, drainage structures and drainage channels by application of appropriate herbicides.
Insures proper herbicide as utilized for each vegetative maintenance area and procedure in accordance with requirements of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and chemical label.
Insures proper weather conditions, wind conditions, and topographical conditions are tolerable for spraying of selected herbicides.
Operate the required spray equipment and truck to insure proper rate of herbicide is being applied in accordance with label and other special factors.
May be required to perform duties and operate equipment listed for Mobile Equipment Operators 1 and 2.
Makes minor repairs to equipment and performs user maintenance necessary to keep equipment in clean, good working order.
Maintain all records pertaining to the spraying of herbicides.

Climbing Wall - Caldwell
Climbing Wall staff is responsible for providing education and training on different climbing techniques, belaying participants, and assuring safe and secure operating procedures.
Must be at least 16 years old. Must have current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire. Must become YMCA belay certified. Climbing experience is preferred. Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, and professional and articulate when dealing with others.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. Position may require bending, leaning and kneeling. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50lbs.
This is a part time position at 15-20 hours per week. Typical schedule will be Sunday 1pm-3pm, Monday, Wednesday, Friday 3pm-8pm and Saturday 12pm-4pm Applicants must be able to attend meetings and training which may fall outside of regular hours. A Carter Components Wall Panel Designer is responsible for designing plans for the quoting and production of wall panels. Ensures drawings are produced accurately and timely based off of blueprints provided by customers. Concrete Floor Applicator - responsible for completing the tasks involved in pouring high quality gypsum based concrete floors along with completing all tasks necessary to ensure subfloor is prepped properly prior to pouring.
Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
Installing sound reduction products prior to pouring the floor
Filling the openings in subfloor with caulk
Transferring 80-pound bags of material from supplier's pallets to the mixing station. Pallets of material and mixing station are located on the back of a flat bed truck. Applicators move bags of material a maximum distance of about 15 feet.
Maneuvering the pour hose to keep it out of the pourer's path of movement
Operating skid steer to transfer sand to the mixer
Operating mixing station to ensure material is being poured at correct strength and consistency
Handling the pour hose to ensure an even and consistent layer of Levelrock is poured throughout the building
Finishing the floor using a screed to ensure the floor is smooth and level throughout the building
Work well in a team setting.
Able to handle working long hours.
Able to regularly work Monday through Friday along with some Saturdays as needed. Saturday work is usually on a voluntary basis.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Preferred – possession of a valid drivers license (class D or commercial class A or B).
Able to lift and maneuver 80-pound bags of Levelrock mix consistently for an extended period of time. Short breaks will be taken after every four bags of material transferred to mixer.
Able to work on hands and knees for an extended period of time.
Able to travel in a truck for extended periods of time. Work is performed throughout Wisconsin and into Minnesota and Illinois so there is drive time with this position. Applicator is paid for drive time.

Component Design Manager-Wall Panels
Work with team to oversee project of transforming initial rough product designs using BIM (Revit) and turn into working documents using HSBCAD (AutoCAD Architectural) by creating highly detailed models. Produce detailed permitting, construction, and shop plans for component aspects of residential multifamily structures. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, materials, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Direct and lead the work of others. Reports to Director of Component Design. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Frequent travel will be required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Direct and lead the work of wall panel component design team
Insure timely delivery and deadline met
Provides layouts, performs engineering, and takeoff services using ability to understand blueprints and customer requirements for specific projects.
Co-ordinates with sales, estimating, production, engineering and the architects to achieve customer schedules and cost objectives.
Resolves architectural and structural design conflicts.
Ensures project files, engineering seals and records are properly maintained.
Computes load and grade requirements and material stress factors to determine design specifications based on customer's structural design needs.
Ensures economical and proper use of materials per current inventory levels and material costs.
Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the capabilities of the factory equipment and produces highly cost effective and production friendly component designs.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience leading a team and virtual collaboration
Associate's degree in a technical program plus 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in wall panel design
5 + MiTek, Alpine, Strucsoft, AGA CAD, or Vision REZ design software.
5+ Years preparing shop, construction, and permitting documents in one of the above software platforms.
5+ Years of industry experience
Organized & excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
HSBCAD (current program) experience preferred but not required
Experience successfully building and leading team in start up environment
Ability to read blueprints and visualize structural details in three dimensions.
Understands code requirements and loading conditions.
Understands field requirements and constructability of panelized components.
Strong command of mathematical concepts of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Energetic and self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
