This position is located in the Facilities Department at a federal correctional institution. The incumbent trains and supervises inmate workers involved in the operation of a primary and secondary wastewater treatment plant responsible for the operation, new construction, repair, improvement, and maintenance of all equipment within the plant.
The incumbent is responsible for the treatment of all wastewater produced by the institution and/or the residential housing area. In accordance with this position, the incumbent must be licensed in compliance with state and/or federal requirements.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
Occasional travel - Travel may be required for training.

Control Operator / Plant Operator
This is a multi- level posting. Candidates may be considered at either level depending on their level experience and depth of expertise.
The control operator is accountable for all activities performed within the premises of the plant during the shift. Provides assistance and direction to other personnel as appropriate.
The plant operator supports the control operator by monitoring and operating the equipment in the field. As appropriate, and at the direction of the company, the plant operator may be temporarily assigned to relieve the control operator. Operators are expected to respond to callouts and work overtime when needed to support the operations of the plant.

Assists with warehousing duties and performs snow removal when needed. Operates the plant forklift and assists with bulk chemical unloading operations.
Conducts regular inspection tours of the facility and writes work orders when defects or problems are noted. Performs minor maintenance when appropriate and assists the maintenance department during outages.
Assists in Lockout/Tagout activities under the direction of the control operator and established clearance procedures. Performs confined space attendant or entrant duties as required.

6) Guides rubber-covered wire through trough of powdered talc or soapstone as it emerges from press to prevent wire from sticking together when spooled.
7) Clamps wire ends in electrodes of electric welder, turns on current, and holds brazing rod against heated wire tips to form continuous wire lengths.
8) May feed wire through pot of molten metal to coat wire with tin prior to sheathing process.
9) May operate machine equipped with wrapping device to wrap tape around wire prior to sheathing.

Properly complete all necessary build records and other required documentation. Support ACE initiatives such as QCPC and DIVE, as well as any other duties deemed necessary by supervision.
Preferred: Ability to read and understand commercial and military procedures and other approved technical data required to assemble jet engine parts.
Be flexible in job assignments and able to perform a variety of assembly functions on commercial and military products. May require some travel, assist other business units and work special shifts as needed. AP license preferred but not required Must be willing and able to train others.
This position requires an individual with demonstrated versatility, flexibility and initiative. It also requires a high level of organization skills and will cover multiple areas as business needs dictate. High School or General Equivalency Diploma Minimum of 1- 3 years' experience working with aerospace industry or equivalent knowledge.
