AVL Powertrain Engineering, Inc. is looking for a direct or contract dyno test tech with at least 3 years of applicable experience. In this role candidates must have advanced engine knowledge and experience in engine testing. In addition, qualified candidates should also possess proficient communication skills with team members and customers. This opportunity is on 2nd shift and will work from 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm at the AVL Ann Arbor, MI location. The Dyno Test Technician II will set up, operate, and tear down experimental test components (engine, batteries, drivetrain etc…) in a test cell or test environment. In addition, the role will support other activities related to lab operations including calibration, maintenance, and housekeeping.

Performs test part installation and removal.
Conducts and observes standardized tests following test parameters and, as required, obtains and records data or ensures data has been captured by an automated system.
Troubleshoots problems encountered with test equipment or other items associated with conducting tests in field of specialization.
Conducts routine maintenance and repair on equipment, test components, etc. following established schedules and procedures.
Fabricates equipment and testing apparatus components following blueprints, engineering schematics, equipment manuals, handwritten or drawn notes.
Uses PC to generate reports and to store and retrieve data, including inventory maintenance, and ordering procedures.
Engages in safe work practices and advises supervisor on improvements to test equipment fabrication, installation, and operation to ensure a safe laboratory operation.

Chassis Dynamometer Equipment Technical Leader
Located in Hagerstown, MD, Volvo Group Trucks Technology operates one of a series of global Powertrain Development Laboratories which focuses on research and development of heavy duty Mack and Volvo truck engines and transmissions. The focus of this laboratory is to optimize, calibrate and verify performance of our product while meeting regulatory standards and the growing needs of our customers.
Technical Development is an elite force that maintains the laboratory while continually improving hardware, systems, and the integration of the methods utilized by those systems. Key areas include supervisory control and data acquisition systems which include, but are not limited to: dynamometers systems, test cell automation systems, fuel conditioning and measurement systems, as well as emissions and combustion analysis systems.
This key role will be responsible for working on the new green-field chassis dynamometer build in Hagerstown. Daily responsibilities will consist of coordination between Volvo key stakeholders and suppliers during the design, procurement and installation phases of the project to secure detail requirements and correct installations are achieved to deliver the objective of the investment. Main interfaces include turnkey suppliers, equipment suppliers, and internal Volvo stakeholders. Equipment responsibilities include but are not limited to: dynamometers, data acquisition equipment, emissions analysis equipment, vehicle analysis equipment, and laboratory IT equipment.
Responsibilities / Main Tasks
Serve as the technical leader on all equipment purchases for the chassis dynamometer project including developing and maintaining requirements and specifications
Technical interface to the lab services employees, engineers, suppliers, and contractors
Coordinate between Volvo stakeholders and suppliers on equipment purchases
Work with turnkey supplier to procure equipment for chassis dynamometer investment
Plan and execute installation and commissioning of equipment
Provide direction to Union employees as well as contractors

SAIC is seeking a Software Automation Tester to provide software testing and troubleshooting in support of a wide variety of web applications and web services.
The focus will be to perform activities at an enterprise level for load and stress testing and application security testing. Interacting directly with customers and providing analysis of the test results is also required. Experience with tools such as LoadRunner, Burp Suite, Silk Performer and Acunetix is required. A software development background and troubleshooting ability will provide a foundation to these testing activities (e.g. Java, C, .NET, C#, Angular, Web API).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
1-3 years of software development experience (Java, C#, .NET, etc.)
Experience with automated testing tools
1-3 years' experience developing, testing, or troubleshooting web applications, web services and APIs
Ability to work with development team to design, write, and execute performance tests
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills with web-based applications and services
Can start uncleared, but must have the ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance
Familiarity with Windows OS
Experience executing test cases and proven ability to identify and isolate product defects
Dedication to providing a high level of customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience writing test plans, manual test cases, detailed bug reports, and other test documentation
A good understanding of the software development lifecycle
Detail oriented and process focused
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience with ITIL a plus
An understanding of common software security vulnerabilities and defenses
Performance testing experience
Experience configuring and maintaining a dedicated test environment
Experience using SQL

Work You'll Do
As a Manager you will bring considerable Testing expertise to deliver effective solutions to clients. This will include:
Managing day-t- day interactions with executive clients and sponsors;
Managing and delivering components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies.
Responsibilities include, among others, managing teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures.
Developing and maintaining contact with top decision makers at key clients; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies.
Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.
Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.
Managers in the Testing practice are required to have:
8+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience;
Minimum of 2 Full Life Cycle system delivery implementations in a testing role;
At least 6 years of leading testing efforts, including experience with all phases of testing: System, Integration, User Acceptance and Performance Testing;
At least 4 years of experience with estimating testing efforts, standing up and structuring >10 resource testing teams, defining the testing strategy for large scale programs and ensuring requirements traceability throughout the system development lifecycle;
At least 4 years of experience overseeing the development of test plans, test scenarios, test cases, execution of test case and documentation of test results;
At least 4 years of experience with driving the quality assurance processes and gaining delivery buy-in from executive leadership;
At least 4 years of testing experience in different environments including one or more of the following client server, Services Oriented Architecture, Web based, Mainframe based and three tier architectures;
At least 4 years of experience with one or more of the following tools: HP toolset, Rational toolset, SOA testing tools and automation testing toolsets;
At least 4 years of experience in test automation including developing test automation strategies and leading automation testing efforts;
Experience with tracking and reporting SLAs and KPIs in a managed services testing engagement;
Experience with implementing techniques such as Service Virtualization using CA, HP or IBM tools;
A willingness to travel 80 - 100% of the time;
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
In addition, successful Managers will have the following preferred background:
Testing Techniques – Understand the various approaches used in testing, including (e.g. desk checking), white-box (logic drive), black-box (requirements driven), load testing, coverage testing and regression testing;
Technical expertise in implementing industry standard testing methodology and tools;
Experience implementing testing best practices specific to the test planning and execution processes and gaining buy-in for changes from executives;
Experience building a Testing Center of excellence
