Electrical Maintenance Mechanic
The Electrical Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining stationary equipment consisting of motors, MCCs, hoppers, conveyors, screens, screws, crushers, hydraulics, pumps, and log washers. A safety-first attitude is a must in addition to complying with all company, federal, and state standards and policies.
Duties and responsibilities
· Troubleshoot, perform repairs, rebuilds and maintenance of all electrical equipment.
· Assist in identifying the root cause in failures and reporting to supervisor.
· Dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoist, fork lifts, cranes and hand tools.
· Examines parts for damage and excessive wear and report issues to supervisor.
· Replaces defective parts effectively, efficiently and safely.
· Perform basic cutting and welding jobs.
· Tests equipment when done with work to ensure operating correctly.
· Servicing equipment as necessary. Inventory and maintain assigned truck and tools.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Licensed Electrician in the state of Texas.
Thorough knowledge of the National Electric Code, construction/mining, cutting /welding and other related mining equipment.Computer
Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other computer software. Use of smart phones in opening up files while working remotely.Welding
Experience with working with mild steel, hardened steels, stainless and cast. A minimum of 5 years’ experience is preferred.
Mechanical experience: A heavy machinery background experience of 5 years’ is preferred.
Consists working on-site at plants in the outdoors and in workshops. On site work consists of activities which include navigating heights, machinery and exposure to elements such as dust, changes in temperature and weather. Required safety equipment will be issued and policies and procedures focused on safety will apply.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. Will require working with heights on equipment and in man baskets. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics. Must be self-motivated and able to direct a laborer throughout the work day.
Might be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays and be flexible with scheduled hours. Work in all weather conditions within reason keeping safety of one’s self and team in mind.

Conduct Pre-trip inspection of ready-mix truck pursuant to D.O.T. regulations. Pre-trip inspection Which includes checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes and other driver operated controls for loading and unloading ready-mix. Fills water tank before each delivery by placing rubber hose into water tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
Upon receiving delivery ticket, driver pulls truck under or backs truck under plant (depending on plant configuration) and charges mixer to receive concrete, making sure to take any admixtures or other ancillary products that are on ticket. Uses map and experience and takes most direct route to job site to ensure on time delivery. Safely drives truck to jobsite and arrives with the desired slump within customer or job specifications.
Upon arriving on jobsite, the driver must walk the job site and be able to safely maneuver truck in often very unstable ground conditions. Safe observations of customer's equipment and conditions. Driver will add necessary ingredients such as fibers, chemical admixtures, cements, or integral colors at plant or jobsite, as well as other products.
Pursuant to customer needs, driver will place chutes from fender or hanging rack onto the main chute at the rear of truck for discharge. Upon completion of discharge, driver will wash the chutes and put back in appropriate location on truck. Prior to leaving jobsite, driver is responsible for completing all paperwork and collection of Moneys (if necessary). Upon completion of each shift, driver will wash truck with hose and brush, including the use of acidic solution (when necessary). Communicates with Plant / dispatch through the use of a two-way radio or other established means.
At the end of the shift, all paperwork must be completed and turned in. Ready-mix driver is responsible to call callout each day for start time. Each driver is expected to perform a post-trip inspection of truck pursuant to DOT regulations.
