The Echocardiograph Technician will provide Echo imaging services in our Hospital and Clinic settings. Studies performed include 2-D and 3-D echo exams, Transesophageal Echocardiography, exercise and pharmacologic Stress echocardiograms, and also participation in Echo's performed during procedures in the Heart and Vascular Center. Associates degree in an cardiovascular technology or relevant allied health profession, previous cardiac ultrasound experience and Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or eligible required. Candidates who possess Associates degree in an Allied Health field with cardiac ultrasound experience and who are not RDCS, RCS, or eligible will be considered for appointment to an entry-level (SL1) training position at a commensurate salary.

Professionally performs m-modes, 2-D echocardiograms, color flow doppler, pulse wave doppler, continuous wave doppler, pedoff doppler, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms and any other procedures performed in the department. Must have good communication skills and technical knowledge. Oversees technical performance of those not registered.
Teaches others cardiac anatomy, physiology, and cardiac ultrasound techniques. Must keep abreast of new advances.
Education: Minimum of High School Graduate. Prefer Associates or Bachelors Degree.
Experience: One year of work or educational experience in Echocardiography preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Must retain active registry status through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains a system where echocardiograms being done can be reviewed by the consulting cardiologist during his/her allotted time for rapid interpretation.
Coordinates with the System Administrator, as well as fellow echo cardiologists, to ensure that there is necessary 24/7 personnel coverage.
Performs bench work, which may include measuring and mounting of echocardiograms, training new personnel to increase skills and knowledge of departmental procedures.
Performs various departmental procedures to include echocardiograms, holter application/scanning, treadmill testing and EKG's.
Maintains and submits required data for Quality Assurance as well as ICAEL.
Assumes other responsibilities and duties that relate to patient care as required.
Available for call on a monthly rotational basis.
Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems in assigned areas.

Roles & Responsibilities:
