Polishes every part and gives the necessary finish which meets requirements for release (reduced welds, cosmetic class and no burrs). Checks and inspects the quality of incoming parts against predetermined tolerances in terms of stripes and marks.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
Operate various grinders and oscillators.
Operate various hand tools.
Review drawings for special instructions such as finish specified prior to starting the job.
Inspect work received from the previous operation and inspect again before moving completed work to the next operation
Remove rough edges from metal parts with files.
Use a grainier to apply the designated finish to metal parts.
Recognizes equipment and product problems, notifies supervisor and/or troubleshoots errors in order to achieve optimum production levels.
Assist with loading the carts and other material handling duties
Follows all company and facility policies including quality, safety, conduct and attendance.
Must have experience in drilling, reaming and tapping holes of holes in machined parts and sheet metal.

Bench Grinder - Deburr
Aerospace Dynamics International, Inc. (ADI) manufactures machined parts and assemblies for the commercial and military aerospace industries. It offers structural components, caps, panels, bulkheads, fittings, longerons, spars, chords, wing ribs, thrust reversers, structural machine parts, manufacturing tooling and stretch form blocks.
ADI was acquired by PCC in April 2014. The company has received significant capital investments since the acquisition and has a highly positive growth trajectory ahead. Comprising seven facilities on its campus in Valencia, CA, ADI has over 700 full-time employees on staff.
Level one bench grinders/deburr operators perform finishing tasks on complex machined aerospace parts using a variety of tools. These individuals work under direct supervision to perform basic deburr operations such as edge breaking and simple surface finishing tasks. They will work with basic deburr tools. They will also work with pneumatic tools and use deburr pads to hand finish surfaces on parts. These individuals should be able to interpret and follow work instructions including work orders and travelers. After training these employees will also be expected to complete shop transactions in the MRP system. This is an entry level position that requires 0-1 year of experience. This position would be a good fit for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Maintain and operate filtration system.
Responsible for own set-ups, and for inspecting own parts, including in-process inspection records.
Responsible for following safety rules, producing quality workmanship, and for good housekeeping in and around the work area.
Completion of all associated paperwork and recordkeeping as required.
