Building Engineer/Limited Maintenance Electrical Apprentice
Providence is calling a Building Engineer/Limited Maintenance Electrical Apprentice (1.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukie, OR and to Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center in Oregon City, OR. You will be working at both locations.
As for the schedule, you will need to be open to working any day, including weekends, evenings, holidays and possibly overnight shifts. You will also need to be on call one week of each month.
In this position, you will:
Be enrolled in the Limited Maintenance Electrical License apprenticeship program and complete the classroom work and on the job training within the time frames defined the Limited Maintenance Electrical (LME) License apprenticeship program standards.
Complete the apprenticeship documentation accurately and on time.
Pass the Limited Maintenance Electrical License Test.
Act, at all times, to maintain a safe patient care environment and work place.
Act, at all times, in a manner that supports a respectful, cooperative, and positive work environment.
Maintain and repair mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, hospital equipment and appliances within the limits of the electrical code or under the supervision of journeyman building engineer.
Monitor, operate and maintain central plant systems including; boilers, chillers, medical gas and emergency power generators.
Monitor and operate the building control and fire alarm systems.
Respond to fire and other emergency events as directed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experienced in the operations of fire alarm systems
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Universal Refrigerant handling certificate
Valid driver's license
3 years of experience in central plant operations and maintenance
Trained or experienced in use of computerized building controls system (DDC)

Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking Interns to join our Interstates Construction Team for our Minnesota regional office. The Electrical Apprentice Intern assists other Apprentice, Journeyman and Foreman Electricians in the install and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment.
Primary Job Duties and
Measures, cuts and bends wire and conduit, using tape measure and hand tools
Operates power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, tuggers, etc.
Installs conductors in race way and cable tray using manual and power equipment
Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit and motors
Performs minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs and switches, tools and equipment
Disassembles defective electrical equipment, such as motors, using hand tools
Load, transport, unload, and furnish Journeyman and Foreman Electricians with materials, equipment, tools, and supplies
May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation
Uses scissor and boom lifts
Perform housekeeping duties as required
Perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft person
Work safely and follow all safety guidelines
Ability to communicate (written and oral) effectively with other team members to accomplish the goals of each project. Ability to speak additional languages helpful

Advanced Apprentice Electrical Or Instrument Tech
Candidate must be a skilled worker having a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of electrical and/or instrumentation equipment, processes and techniques. Will be responsible for assisting and learning electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair of equipment, as well as facility electrical applications; programming PLCs; troubleshooting hydraulic equipment; and fine tuning the timing of various machine centers. This position could possibly require rotating shifts.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
An Electrical Apprentice assists in the installation of electrical equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.
You will assist with:
Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components and devices associated with electrical equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
Installing and mounting electronic controls, device, panels, sensors, and components.
Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices.
Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Reading contract drawings.
Trouble shooting EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.
Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
Relocates a twelve foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see In color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
Must be committed to excellence and generate a high quality of work.
Must consistently report to work on time, work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment.
Must wear an M.C. Dean, Inc. hard hat and safety glasses at all times while on the job site.

Apprentice Engineer - Electrical Co-Op
The selected individual will support the Body Systems Component II department in wire harness creation/repair, part retrofits, bench improvements, component procurement, prototype part assembly and validations testing support. Co-op will be assigned special projects relating to vehicle checks and testing.
Co-op support will help achieve our department goals and objectives on schedule. Must be pursuing Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university. Sophomore or Junior students preferred for this role.
Experience with Circuits and soldering is highly desired. Position slated to start in April or May 2018.
