Equistar Chemicals, LP, a LyondellBasell Company, is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of "Instrument and Electrical Maintenance Technician" at their High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) manufacturing facility located near Alvin, TX.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Instrument and Electrical Maintenance Technician's primary roles are the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of various instrument and electrical components and systems at a world class High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) manufacturing facility. Instrument and electrical equipment at the Chocolate Bayou site includes a wide variety of level, pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters, control valves, Foxboro Distributed Control System, Triconex TMR Safety PLC, Allen Bradley general purpose PLC, electric motors up to 2500 HP, low and medium voltage switchgear. Maintenance, repair and calibration of gas chromatography (GC) instruments. The site also employs an Asset Management System (AMS) for calibration setup and documentation and online diagnostics for instrumentation and control valves. The site employs approximately 60 employees and contractors to operate and maintain two production lines.
Performance Objectives
Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment; responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
Provide troubleshooting, repair and proactive maintenance to site process equipment
Provide technical expertise in the installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, pro-active maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of unit equipment including:
Transformers, breakers and other power distribution equipment, motor starters, motors, etc.
Level, temperature, flow and pressure instruments, control valves and other process and machinery instrumentation systems.
Work within Asset Management System (AMS) for calibration setup and documentation and online diagnostics and testing for instrumentation and control valves.
Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, calibration of gas chromatography instruments
Execute scheduled work by:
Reviewing assigned job scopes for completeness and understanding.
Acquiring all necessary parts, tools, and instructions prior to starting the job to maximize work efficiency.
Following all necessary safety procedures and practices to isolate, clear, and work on plant equipment.
Ensuring work is completed per company and industry standards.
Working with equipment owner to complete task in a safe and timely manner.
Updating supervisor on job progress and any problems encountered in completing the defined scope of work.
Completing all documentation using a computerized maintenance management system.
Respond to tasks as directed by maintenance supervision with the appropriate sense of urgency to minimize impact to process units.
Identify and implement reliability driven improvements. This may include participation in site reliability teams.
Participate on committees dealing with investigations, policy and procedure development, and improving the work place environment.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
At least one (1) of the following four (4):
2 years of maintenance experience in instrumentation in an industrial environment
NCCER Instrument Technician certification
Journeyman Instrument Technician from a recognized apprenticeship program
Associate's degree in Instrumentation from an accredited college or trade school; co-op and/or internship experience also preferred.
Advanced understanding of equipment design and application for various types of electrical and instrumentation: pressure, temperature, level and flow devices, transformers, motor starters, circuit breakers, control circuits, etc…
Experience with repair and maintenance of gas chromatography instruments
Fundamental understanding of specification sheets, loop diagrams, and P&ID's is required. Technical skills testing will be performed during the hiring process to insure minimum requirements are met. Additionally, the candidate:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language
Must be willing and able to provide overtime coverage

LyondellBasell's Houston Refinery, one of the largest refineries designed to process heavy, high-sulfur crude oil is in search of an Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Engineer. Our 268,000-barrel-per-day refinery is strategically located on the U.S. Gulf Coast with access to interstate pipelines and the Port of Houston. The facility covers approximately 700 acres at the city limits of Houston and Pasadena, Texas. The Houston Refinery was one of the first petroleum refineries constructed on the Houston Ship Channel and traces its origin to 1918. Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to develop and maintain a strategic position on reliability improvement with plant instrumentation and electrical systems.
Responsibility:
Implement and sustain long range plan for electrical systems and electrical components up to 480V, instrumentation and control systems, such as local PLC's, antisurge / speed controllers, vibration monitors, control valves, transmitters and interface to DCS in the assigned area of the site, including:
Develop defect elimination projects including reliability, maintenance cost and process improvements
Obsolescence and Replacement Management
Application of corporate and industry standards and procedures
Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance programs for area, ensuring proper testing methods and proper testing frequencies are in place for Critical I&E Equipment.
Analyze PM data to adjust PM frequency based on records
Implement industry best practices into PM procedures
Provide support through:
Guidance on best practices documented in the engineering standards ,procedures, and guidelines
Assistance to maintenance in troubleshooting complex jobs and equipment issues
Pro`actively track and report on area bad actors in order to systematically remove defects in the system
Development of turnaround scope and proactive participation in turnaround core teams
Leading or participating in PHA's and RCFA teams as required
Attending weekly meetings in representation of the I&E group
Monitor and address equipment repair notifications
Lead or represent I&E department oversight of expense and capital projects
Generate and/or review and approve I&E packages
Work to ensure proper design per engineering standards and guidelines of I&E and control systems
Support site's development of technical competencies by:
Mentoring less experienced engineers and co-ops, participating in on-boarding process
Perform discipline specific training to other engineers, discipline craft, and operations
Ensure integrity of engineering records associated with I&E equipment in assigned area, including:
Ensuring correct calibration methods are maintained
Ensuring data management system (such as SAP, lntools, Engineering Drawings, etc.) remain accurate and are updated in timely manner
Ensuring MOC practices are followed for all I&E changes
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree preferred; Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering will be considered.

4.Experience in 480 volt to 4160 volt electrical systems desired.
5.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to develop working relationships with maintenance and operations personnel in a team environment.
6.The job requires frequent standing, walking, climbing (ladders, stairs), and the ability to lift 80 lbs. occasionally.
7.Microsoft Office software knowledge.
8.The job occasionally requires overtime and call-outs on weekends, nights and holidays.

The employee is regularly required to push, pull, and bend and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundation, climbing stairs, ladders, and structures, etc. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
If a member of the fire brigade, must be able to meet the essential fire brigade member functions as defined in the fire brigade standard.

Instrument & Electrical RRP Project Engineer
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to track and execute Instrumentation and electrical projects for reliability improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Lead and track I&E Reliability sponsored project spend for the department.
Complete monthly project spend forecasts reports
Ensure projects on the LRP are tracked and prioritized
Align projects in the LRP with the turnaround cycle
Prepare and coordinate quarterly updates to the site leadership for the department project LRP's
Participate in the development and management of the department long range plans for electrical, instrumentation, and SIS systems.
Developing defect elimination projects including reliability, maintenance cost and process improvements
Obsolescence and Replacement Management
Application of corporate and industry standards and procedures
Lead and execute instrumentation and electrical capital and expense projects
Develops project scopes.
Generates and/or reviews, and approves instrumentation packages within asset area.
Works to ensure proper design per engineering standards and guidelines of I&E and control systems.
Support HRO's development of technical competencies by:
Mentoring less experienced engineers and co-ops, participate in on-boarding process
Perform discipline specific training to other engineers, discipline craft, and operations
Ensure integrity of engineering records associated with I&E projects responsible:
Ensuring data management system (such as SAP, Intools, Engineering Drawings, etc.) are updated per the MOC process
Ensuring proper MOC practices are followed for all changes
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience in a plant or refinery setting.
Has developed conceptual and practical expertise; integrates knowledge of best practices

Job Description Summary Lonza is seeking an Instrument and Electrical Technician at our location in Bend, OR. The Instrument and Electrical Technician will coordinate calibrations with third party vendors, review BMRAM scheduled calibrations and ensure timely completion of third party calibrations.
