PG&E's Power Generation Department manages and operates the largest privately-owned hydroelectric system in the nation. This is a journey-level Project Engineer job that requires mastery of the Associate level Project Engineer skills and duties and provides complete engineering & design, project management, and technical support to O&M staff for a wide range of moderately complex issues and multiple medium to large capital and expense improvements to power generation and infrastructure facilities. The candidate will work with a small team that travels to hydro electric facilities within Northern California. Responsibilities will include setting up data acquisition systems on live, energized controls to monitor critical generator parameters during online dynamic testing. Candidate will act as liaison with plant personnel during testing and excitation system commissioning. Will develop test plans and support in commissioning of excitation systems and tuning of controllers.
