An Electrical Test Engineer is required to lead the testing of ceramic capacitors and related components to support the reliability and performance required by our customers. This requires familiarity with the electrical testing of components and how these relate to their application in electronics. This electrical testing will support critical electronic design analysis tools as well as addressing customer requests for technical information. This will also include electrical modeling of multilayer ceramic capacitors and how to properly measure all characteristics to fully characterize the capacitors.
Develop proficiency in advanced MLCC characterization and modeling techniques
Impedance, Effective Series Resistance (ESR), Effective Series Inductance (ESL), Insulation resistance, Dissipation Factor, etc.
Analyze KEMET's KSIM tool and maintain gap analysis of competitors and customer needs.
Develop and execute strategy to align KEMET's KSIM with current product offering.
Work with design engineers develop an understanding of MLCC materials and design and how electrical characteristics are impacted
Maintain and report metrics on KSIM
Address customer requests for technical information using KEMET's RTI system
Characterize MLCCs per customer request and develop reports and/presentations for external customers.
Skills and Experience
Strong technical background in electrical testing
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Experience with Impedance and ESR measurements, Spice simulation tools, or PCB layouts is a plus.
Familiar with assembly methods for testing components, programming languages (C/C++/C#/LabVIEW) for test automation, RF theories, test fixture designs, and be able to apply statistical analysis techniques.
A proven ability to solve problems by accurately interpreting the test results is critical.
Demonstration of innovative problem solving with respect to challenging electrical tests is beneficial.

Electrical Test Engineer
Element has an opportunity for a Electrical Test Engineer based out of our Warren, MI automotive testing facility. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine electrical testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate results under indirect supervision.
Oversee multiple projects and be responsible for day-to-day activities, including scheduling, updating client, and coordinating or reporting activities with supervisor or other team members
