Summary of Job Description
The positions within Electrician II are responsible for performing a variety of tasks including routing harnesses and/or cables through truck frames and cabs along with installing lights and electrical parts. What You Will Be Doing
Prepared to perform routine and urgent electrical, instrumentation, controls and maintenance and repairs.
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and/or power tools. Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roof to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting of heavy objects. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, locate the cause of electrical breakdowns and correct the problem. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes. Connect wires to motors, drives, circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, meggers and loop calibrators, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Install, maintain, repair and calibrate digital/analog monitoring/control equipment.
Maintain and repair automatic control systems.
Install and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers, troubleshoot Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems.
Repair and maintain communications links and communications hardware.

Apply basic electrical and electronic principals in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of plant systems
Troubleshoot and maintain plant electrical and electronic equipment to competent level including operator interfaces, PLCs, process controllers, power supplies, etc.
Make minor repairs on general plant machinery such as fans, blowers, conveyors, belts, mechanical and screw conveyors.
Perform simple repairs on piping installations such as replacing leaking fittings, replacing valves, etc.
Install, troubleshoot and maintain switch gear, control wiring and components, overcurrent and overload protection for plant motor(s) including three phase systems
Read, update and create electrical prints and documentation
Follow all plant safety rules and work rules
Perform all other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
1+ years of Maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, automotive or military environment OR 2 Year Technical Degree
