This position maintains and ensures reliable operation of all Plant Manufacturing and auxiliary equipment. Being a member of the Maintenance Department, a 40 hour work week is guaranteed but weekend overtime is expected when necessary.
Knowledge of Power Distribution Systems including switchgear and power distribution panels.
Experience with AC and DC motors, motor starters, transformer wiring and relay logic.
Experience with Allen Bradley Variable Frequency Drives.
Experience with Allen Bradley PLC's, which include ControlLogix, PLC-5 and SLC 500.
Be able to follow and understand wiring diagrams.
Work well independently and within a group as part of a team.
Worked at least 5 years as a Journeyman Electrician in an industrial environment.
Handle diagnostic testing, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical components and systems.
Troubleshoot equipment using PLC Software.
Troubleshoot drive failure and set up replacement drive if needed.
Execute and perform diagnostics on electronic components.
Execute and perform work based on wiring diagrams sketches and specs.
Inspect, repair or replace motors.
Maintain power distribution equipment and lighting.
Work to complete departmental predictive and preventive maintenance program.
Active Rhode Island Electrical Journeyman's License
Other related duties as required.

Works under close supervision of Lead Electrician - Work is checked frequently for accuracy
Performs a variety of electrical trade functions including installation, maintenance, and/or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy below 1,000 volts
Installs or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment including transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment
Locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment
Uses a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments
Exercises generators with and without a load bank
Collects generator fuel, coolant, and oil samples for analysis

Completion of a recognized apprentice training program of at least four years' duration in the electrical trade
Two years of full-time, paid journey-level experience in the electrical trade

Maintain all primary and secondary/electrical distribution systems up to 600 volts. Troubleshoot and maintain control circuitry, variable frequency drives and all other special electrical systems. 1.Your primary responsibility in all of the work you perform is to be safe and follow all plant safety rules and work rules
2.Apply electrical principles in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Plant Systems.
3.Troubleshoot and maintain electrical controls systems such as motor control circuits, process controllers, power supplies, and automated control circuitry through programmable logic controllers (PLC's).
4.Provide mechanical maintenance support for motors, conveyors, mills, packaging equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
5.Look for continuous improvement, ideas to improve safety, reliability, quality, throughput, and energy.
6.Work with Engineers on capital upgrades in your area as needed with either actual installation assistance or as an advisor/Team Leader
