Sr. Electro Optical Engineer
We are currently seeking an experienced and seasoned diode laser and device packaging expert to develop next generation display systems for the HoloLens Mixed Reality devices. The Electro-Optical Engineer will need to have multiple years of commercial diode laser device development and qualification experience and will be working with internal and external teams on the specification, development, qualification, and integration of optical sources used for Near Eye Display systems.
The Senior Device Engineer will be an external-facing engineer with the responsibility of managing the development of visible light (red, green and blue) laser devices with multiple vendors.

Leveraging our multi-disciplined engineering expertise in optics, electronics, software and mechanics, Optics 1 is able to design and deliver state-of-the-art electro-optical integrated systems. The Electro / Optical Technician is responsible for assembling, aligning, testing and configuring optical, electronic, mechanical components. Work is performed in accordance with released procedures, drawings, schematics and wiring tables.

Detail part design of injection-molded, machined and sheet metal parts using 3D solid-modeling and 2D drawings.
Work with electro-mechanical products integrating controls, pcb’s, switches, etc. into mechanical housings and enclosures.
Ability to build assemblies and create parts lists.
Detailed drafting, including dimensioning, GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Perform stress, load calculations and write engineering feasibility studies.
Initiate/process engineering deviation notices and change orders.
Coordination with suppliers, engineers, manufacturing and other resources.
Support existing products as needed documenting design modifications and maintaining drawing database.
Developing qualification test plans, testing and writing summarizing report.

Finite Element Analysis knowledge and experience (using Cosmos, etc).
