GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible to inspect and perform all phases related to blood components production in accordance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), organizational policies, and regulatory and cGMP requirements.
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent One year medical education and/or medical laboratory assistant experience preferred
Medical background preferred Certification/License:
Medical Laboratory Assistant certification preferred
Essential Functions: 1. Process blood components to established quality standards. 2.
Follow Daily Production Plan to maintain adequate inventory of blood components. 3. Accurately label blood components. 4. Report on the final disposition of components. 5.
Quarantine blood components. 6. Perform calibration, quality control, and maintenance on equipment and document accurately. 7. Review G4 error log and ensure all components are electronically received in manufacturing. 8.
Provide exceptional customer service internally and externally. 9. Maintain good working relationship with co-workers, senior technicians, other departments, and management. 10. Report any irregularities, difficulties, and unusual results immediately. 11.
Abide by all safety regulations. 12. May perform other tasks as assigned.
Nonessential Functions: 1. Run departmental errands as directed.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours. Requires to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
Must be able to stand for a long period of time. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in well lighted, air conditioned and heated laboratory. May be exposed to electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards and other conditions common to a laboratory environment.
May be exposed to blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a full service blood and tissue center. Exposed to temperatures less than 10 ' C. May be required to work any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend.
Variable days, 2nd/3rd Shift hours - evening shifts will be 8-10 hrs, working between the hours of 3:00pm-3:00am, to include weekends and occasional holidays.
Training schedule will be Monday
6:30pm, 11:00am-7:30pm, 12:00pm-8:30pm until completion of training within the 90 day period. After training is completed, will move to 2nd/3rd shift hours listed above. You will also support environmental test engineers in developing testing methods and plans, and assist in troubleshooting any issues that may arise during testing. In addition, you'll also help to coordinate maintenance, calibration, and repair of equipment and keep the test area clean and organized. Note that positions may be assigned to first or second shift; second shift assignments are eligible for shift differential premium pay.
Qualifications You will need at least three years of experience in vibration and thermal vacuum testing. Familiarity with the use of electronic test equipment such as amplifiers, chart recorders, conditioners, and various data acquisition devices is necessary. Must have the ability to solder, set up thermocouples and monitoring devices, and work in close proximity of delicate hardware without damaging it. Basic computer skills are required, with knowledge of Microsoft office applications needed. Good organizational skills are a must. Lead the technical definition and implementation of electronic system cost modeling solutions, including the identification of analytics that enable trend data to be established.
Develop close technical relationships with suppliers to identify best cost solutions, including emerging technologies that provide cost improvements
Work with Engineering & Product Sourcing teams during the new business quoting phase to establish reference cost targets
Support Procurement teams during negotiating events with target costing
