Position Summary:
The Principal Component Engineer will report into the HARMAN Best Cost Analytics organization and will be responsible for the development and delivery of "should be" cost models covering HARMAN's Automotive Electronic Systems including amplifier, infotainment and telematics products. The developed cost models will establish Design-to-Cost targets that will be utilized by HARMAN teams including Engineering and Procurement.
Job Responsibilities:
Utilize internal and external databases to build cost models that will establish Design-to-Cost targets for HARMAN Automotive products
Define the HARMAN "best practice" cost reference for the following electronic systems to a component level:
Infotainment Systems with and without Displays
Telematics Control Units (TCU)
Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS)
Car Audio Amplifiers Systems
Analyze cost breakdowns from supplier quotes and understand all cost influent factors
Lead the technical definition and implementation of electronic system cost modeling solutions, including the identification of analytics that enables trend data to be established
Develop close technical relationships with suppliers to identify best cost solutions, including emerging technologies that provide cost improvements
Work with Engineering & Product Sourcing teams during the new business quoting phase to establish reference cost targets
Support Procurement teams during negotiating events with target costing
Utilize cost models and associated data to train HARMAN teams on Design-to-Cost best practices based on developed cost models
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Minimum 10 yrs work experience in the following areas:
Cost engineering of electronic systems
VA/VE of electronic systems
Design & development of electronic systems
Electronic system component engineering
Experience with complex semiconductor components including applications processors (System-on-Chip devices), micro-controllers, memory devices, tuners as well as wired and wireless networking devices
Proven technical leadership with demonstrated ability to lead and review the work of other cost engineers
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical topics through structure solutions. Must be able to influence others to drive alignment on proposed technical solutions.
Excellent presentation skills and demonstrated ability to effectively present complex technical topics
Experience working in a fast-paced, highly measured, results-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in electrical engineering
Experience with automotive electronics is highly desirable, including experience selecting and/or recommending automotive grade electronic components
Demonstrated ability to breakdown semiconductors component costs into the constituent costs including die, testing, assembly and packaging
Demonstrated ability to share knowledge and best practices with teammates
Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively work with all levels of a global matrixed organization

Your Responsibilities
As an Electronics Component Engineer for John Deere Electronic Solutions in Fargo, North Dakota, you will provide technical support in the collection of required data for purchased components that meet technical, environmental, and compliance requirements for the intended application. You will be responsible for data collection, review, and maintenance of the technical data integrity for the electronics component database. In addition you will:
Collect and assist with review of qualification and certification data for new parts/manufacturers (i.e. RoHS, REACH, J-STD-020, AECQ)
Execute scheduled maintenance functions on the Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) component database
Monitor life cycle status of electrical/electronic components and provide awareness to product teams
Determine alternate options to ensure price competitiveness and availability
Prepare Approved Manufacturer Listing (AML) entry sheets and coordinate through the approval process
Keep abreast of "state-of-the-art" technology for electronics components (resistors, microcontrollers, etc)

What Skills You Need

JOB SUMMARY:
This position will support the delivery of Electronic payments. Responsible for researching information, monitoring payments and resolving complaints and problems. The Electronic Payment Processor will identify discrepancies with direct deposit/debit card payments and provide resolution, void and reissue paper checks along with investigating forged checks.

Contact customers and assist in completion of required program forms. Advise them of their responsibilities with the direct deposit or the debit card.
Maintain, retrieve, and review work load information from automated databases and electronic files. Process incoming mail
Confer by telephone or correspondence with representatives of various government and private organizations to verify customer account information.
Review and correct the UI claimant's primary/secondary contact information to ensure prompt contact if necessary, and train the UI claimant in the correct process of submitting their request for direct deposit for prompt payment of their potential benefits
Explain policies of the various UI claims to claimants and provide accurate and complete documentation in the UI automated system as well as other systems and securing confidentiality of claimant information at all times

Role Summary/Purpose
The Engineer 1 - Electrical Component reports to the Senior Design Engineer and is responsible for the production design of instrument transformers, as well as test related activities. In this role, you will provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives, and will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Engineer 1 - Electrical Component, you will:
Be responsible for product design for current and voltage instrument transformers, electronic components, and industrial control switches
Independently perform most design assignments
Ensure standards compliance to IEEE, IEC and other applicable standards
Implement final test procedures and produce verification reports
Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
Provide troubleshooting / testing of product features
Coordinate and control the activities performed by internal and external resources related to the assigned product lines, including customer inspections and witness testing
Ensure expected results in terms of quality, execution time, and cost
Perform qualification testing for new products
Evaluate test equipment / procedures to minimize test time and increase throughput while meeting ANSI / IEEE standards
Interface with Product Management team, Sourcing, Quality and Manufacturing
Ensure company safety and quality expectations are met
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies / procedures
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or related technical position)

Job Description:
Lead, with Supervisory responsibilities, the Components Engineering team. Personnel consisting of engineers and engineering specialists
Maintain and manage an orderly, disciplined, fair and positive work environment for all employees.
Lead CE team towards common goals – ensure data integrity, customer service, process standardization, meet performance expectations for the department, and internal communications.
Effectively communicate with direct reports – policies, procedures, performance expectations, strategic improvements HBX (Harris Business Excellence) to enable successful project completion.
Effectively supervise and provide oversight for day-to-day activities and standardization improvements, advocate for the team as needed.
Effectively develop work force – recognizing high performers, coaching needs improvement performers, and providing skill set growth opportunities.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with ten plus years of industry experience.
Experience with various databases including Agile, EDP, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Office, IHS.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Results oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and strategic thought to enable advancement of our team contributions to the CS segment.
A passion, curiosity and comfort of the latest technology in our industry
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite- Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Project Management experience or certification
Proficiency in Agile database
