The Maintenance Technician position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.

Maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by the following but not limited to:
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Manufacturing Electronic Maintenance Technician
Breakdown Repair Response
Provide immediate response to breakdown situations coordinating with machinist when appropriate to ensure a quick resolve without compromising equipment or safety.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic and electromechanical components of pressroom, mailroom and building equipment safely and efficiently. Troubleshooting and repair of network, PLC, automated remote controls. Strong skill base to install and commission new equipment or systems.
Skills in the use of electronic and instrumentation shop instruments (volt ohm multimeter, oscilloscope, clamp on amp meter, soldering iron, regulated powersupply etc.) to set equipment to manufacturers specifications, and make appropriate repairs.
Skills in the use of other small shop equipment (drill press, grinder, etc.) to repair damaged or manufacture retrofit parts for equipment.
Skills in routine maintenance and repair of WAN and LAN Microsoft platform equipment for client e-mail, page flow delivery, special applications used to operate production equipment and desktop support.
Skills in installing, troubleshooting and upgrading client systems.
Skills in routine maintenance and repair of PLC systems.
Ability to use a laptop to troubleshoot ladder logic, install software upgrades and equipment preventive maintenance programs.
General knowledge in the troubleshooting and repair of electronic and electromechanical systems and electrical controls. General knowledge of electrical code, techniques of running conduit and electrical controls for new installations (voltage up to 120VAC).

Communications; Effective use of oral and written skills (department logs, work orders, electronic and electromechanical report, email, etc.) in communicating with TS Manager, maintenance foreman and other departments to ensure plant maintenance programs remain effective and results timely.
Utilization of maintenance records (department preventative maintenance logs, equipment logs, etc.) to keep information useful and timely. Updating and maintaining spare parts inventory as parts are used to ensure accuracy.
Adhere to all company environmental policies and practices, utilize safe work practices including but not limited to lockout/tagout program and hot work permit program to protect personnel and equipment. Maintain safe and clean work is by good housekeeping practices (putting away supplies, tools, etc., and cleaning up when work is done).

What you'll do:
This position will be preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on all manufacturing equipment.
Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. Sets a leading example by supporting and adhering to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
Works individually or in teams using hand and power tools to perform operations and process checks, PM activities and troubleshooting / repair work on all manufacturing and packaging equipment. Performs root cause analysis on all mechanical issues and suggests preventative measures to prevent reoccurrence. Responsible for the proper inspection, cleaning, lubrication and rebuilding of manufacturing equipment as needed.
May occasionally operate forklifts, scissors lifts and/or other powered industrial trucks in loading, unloading and movement of parts and equipment. Assist with the installation and set-up of new equipment as needed. Effectively communicate and coordinate changeover requirements with affected personnel and departments.
Ensures all quality and food safety practices are followed at all times. Assist with the training and certification program as needed. Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels both internal and external to the organization. Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc.
Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of three phase electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC controls; shop math and strong troubleshooting methodology required. Machine shop and fabrication skills a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals and associated technical documents to assist in machine troubleshooting and repair. Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification required.\
High school diploma or GED required. 3-5 year's experience production line maintenance experience (preferably batch chemical processing) in a fast-paced lean manufacturing environment preferred.
Prior manufacturing experience in a GMP environment required (food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, etc.)
