Job Summary:
- To assemble electronic components using printed circuits, sheet metal, and other electric material.
Essential Duties:
May be required to work with a soldering iron and other Assembly tools
Be able to handle small electronic parts
Work with job specific testing equipment
Repair (with proper training) electronic assemblies by hand
Work with schematics of moderate complexity
2 4 years of experience is beneficial
Assume other special activities as directed by supervisor

Job Title: SMT Electronics Assembler
Location: Austin, TX 78725 - Must be willing to work on-site
Duration: 6 Months Contract To Hire.
Note: This is a 4th shift, Temp To Hire Position. Hours are 6:00AM to 6:30PM, - Friday-Sunday
Summary:
We are looking for a soldering rework electronics assembler with skills as in SMT.
Candidate will also be operating an AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and X-ray machines.
Day to day duties would include working on electronics wire harnesses, terminations as well as circuit cards and components such as relays, capacitors, resistors, etc. May also work on circuit card kitting.
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience in electronic assembly, conducting soldering rework of SMT defects.
IPC-610 or J-STD-001 certification; will be required to achieve these certifications as a condition of employment
Some background in AOI and X-ray use
Knowledge of thru-hole component work and ability to do touch up/solder repair-Rework
Able to read blueprints, work instructions and/or schematics.
Experience working with measuring instruments such as calipers, torque tools, and gauges.
HS Diploma or GED Required
Must pass drug screen and criminal background check
This is a 4th shift, temp to hire position. Hours are 6AM to 6:30PM, Friday-Sunday.
Preferred Experience:
Feeder load, SMT (Fuji), Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), and X-ray/AXI experience
Electronics Assembler
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follow prints and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
Crimp, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, solders, cements, press fits, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on panels.
Connect component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
Assemble and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
Always be sure your area is neat and clean. Ensure overall organization of the work cell. Unused items should be sorted out and removed.
Be responsible for your quality throughout the work order.
Follow all Safety Policies.
Follow ESD Policy.
Receive additional training as required by Manufacturing Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS

Electronics Assembler - Level 2 (Selective Solder)
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Assembles or preps electronic and electro-mechanical components, including printed circuit boards, cables and magnetics, subassemblies, final products, or systems in the production of power supplies or related equipment.
This is accomplished by reading work orders, following production drawings, bill of materials, and/or sample assemblies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Build basic mechanical assemblies using various hand tools and tooling.
Read and understand Bill of Materials, Assembly drawings and manufacturing instructions.
Be able to identify components per Bill of Material.
Access the company ERP system for BOM, parts inventory, etc.
Access computer for relevant program and MIs
Quality check your own and others' work for workmanship and accuracy.
Being aware of shortages and rejected parts.
Communicates clearly.
Participates in team meetings.
Good housekeeping practices and adheres to all company policies.
Works safely.
Reference IPC 610 for acceptance criteria.
Rework assemblies as needed.
Write up and process rejected material to Material Review.
Perform requirements of the Torque Log and other ISO logs.
Process ECO's and Deviations.

Based on the assigned area of production, the following duties may apply:
Set-up, operate and program equipment in the SMT/PCB area, including Screen Printer, CSI, Pick and Place, Wave Solder, Selective Solder, Reflow Oven and AOI machines.
Prep parts for thru-hole assembly.
Assemble and solder Thru-hole printed circuit boards.
Machine or basic testing equipment operation and setup/program/maintenance.
Sets up and maintains CNC machines including basic preventive maintenance.
Tin wires in solder pot
Make all types of cables, jumpers, ribbon and up to cable wire harnesses.
Creates and maintains cable wiring boards.
Crimp, heat stake, rivet, cement, press, bolt or screw together assemblies.
Use of torque tools.
Use soldering iron for basic soldering tasks.

The successful candidates, working under the direction of a Production Supervisor, will be responsible for assembling and testing electro-mechanical components, subassemblies, products, and/or systems. Ability to communicate and interface with program team to plan, prioritize, and execute an aggressive manufacturing schedule.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures and basic engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience with tools necessary to fabricate and test electronic circuitry
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Solid background in digital and analog circuitry.
IPC certified or able to obtain certification in J-STD-001 (Requirements for Solder & Electrical and Electronic Assemblies).
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Unit and Systems Level Test experience, including performance of system calibrations, is a plus.
Must be a US citizen able to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.
