Job SummaryThe period of performance will be 1 April thru 31 October. Provide Electronic Technician mission support of Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI)/Air Combat Training Systems (ACTS) pod uploads and downloads on various military aircraft operating in the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) or in other locations as directed. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Provide Pod support for various U.S. military and Foreign aircraft
Perform operational and sustainment support to include: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, constructing and testing of various types of electronic equipment and components following detailed instructions
Provide practical application of technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and skills to fix equipment to original required operational condition
Plan, organize and direct day to day pod loads when assigned
Provide pod ID and aircraft data lineups to Red Flag ACMI Operations no later than 1 hour prior to first takeoff
Update RAMPOD and the Red Flag Database for each pod in accordance with (IAW) applicable procedures as directed
Transport and load various types of pods as directed
Repair pods in IAW applicable technical manuals
Minimum Requirements Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology preferred, or High School diploma and graduated from a 2-year technical school, or equivalent military technical training with 2 years’ related experience at the journeyman level. Employee must possess fundamental knowledge of electronics and basic computer skills. Experience and/or assignments in a Pod Shop are desired. Possess high level of familiarity with common test equipment such as digital multi-meters, signal generators and oscilloscopes. Possess familiarity with and have maintenance skills for various test and training instrumentation pods, including MOKKITS, P4BEV2 and P5CTS pods. Flexibility in work hours will be necessary to support mission scheduling, with extended hours occasionally required. May be required to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications Local candidates. Relocation will not be offered. An Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology preferred.

The Engineering Technician V - Electronics (ETE) will be assigned in direct support of:
The Ordnance Systems and Management Division, Code 232, of the Navy Munitions Command, CONUS East Division.
This Command provides technical material support for Ship Defense and Operating Systems. Included in the material support are maintenance, inventory management, handling, storage and disposal of Naval equipment.
The ETE shall provide support to Code 232 for the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), Navy Sea Sparrow Surface Missile System (NSSMS) and PUSH/PULL programs.
The assignment is for 40 hours a week, Monday- Thursday 0600-1630.
The principal place of performance will be at the Navy Munitions Command, CONUS East Division, located on the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, Virginia.
This position performs repair and certification on a wide range of equipment/parts for NAVICP systems support. Assignments involve equipment containing a great density of critical components and circuitry requiring a thorough understanding of the operations of electronic equipment and a considerable knowledge of the theories, methods, and principles of electronics.
Performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project or a portion of a larger project.
- Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance. Evaluates and analyzes technical data for assessment of equipment, parts, instrumentation and material characteristics to define specific performance characteristics and equipment deficiencies.
- Plans or assists in coordinating and integrating all technical, fiscal and inspection controls.
- Prepares process reports, point papers, design change proposals and fiscal reports.
- Contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate work.
- Diagnoses equipment malfunction through the use of system analysis, test equipment, and schematics.
- Evaluates, modifies, and replaces components, and analyzes their operation.
- Performs final technical operations, verification that the system, equipment, or component is performing, within designated certification parameters.
- Operates and analyzes equipment/systems to diagnose and isolate discrepancies which cannot be located and corrected through established procedures.
- Compiles records of system/equipment failures, action taken, and costs involved.
- Performs receiving, storing, and issuing of SOM assets in accordance with the NMC CED overall warehousing plan and procedures.
- Screens incoming material to determine accuracy, condition, stock numbers, nomenclature, quantity, unit of pack, and location.
- Selects and assembles items for shipment ensuring issue assets are loaded aboard proper conveyance and shipping data is recorded on applicable documents.
Engineering Technician minimum requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as technician
- Requires extensive practical knowledge of the theories, principles, and techniques of engineering and maintenance of electronic, electromechanical and mechanical systems.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in reverse engineering, specification development and extraction.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience with defense systems and equipment
- A minimum of 1 year experience in Navy’s ERP Program
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as electronics technician.

As part of our failure analysis team, this position will contribute to the technical analysis of feature dense commercial grade electronic devices, with the goal of uncovering design, part, and manufacturing flaws in order to drive substantial quality improvement. The team’s primary focus is on finding the underlying cause of product failure trends that cause significant numbers of customer returns, field performance issues, and production failures. This role will draw heavily on knowledge of digital and analog circuitry. With access to schematics, part documentation, and a wide variety of laboratory tools, the candidate should be comfortable analyzing a circuit down to component level in an effort to determine the root cause of product failure. A successful candidate will have proficiency in a wide range of troubleshooting tools, equipment and techniques. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in an electronic troubleshooting capacity within an electronics / technology organization. Perform in-depth troubleshooting to the component level on complex electronic products that failed in the field and/or production
Prepare detailed and thorough technical analysis reports documenting findings
Configure bench test set-ups to duplicate customer reported fail modes ranging from audio, video, Ethernet/IP communications, power, RF, etc.
Analyze schematics, test reports, data sheets, product history, ECN’s and customer case notes
Interface with internal and external departments where required during case analysis
Provide technical support to other groups within the Quality Assurance team, especially pertaining to product quality issue resolutions
Escalate any issue that may affect the quality of a product Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent is required.
Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 4 years of experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies down to the component level
Understanding of digital and analog circuits including microprocessors, SMT technology, and multilayer boards
Experience using test equipment including DVMs, Oscilloscopes, signal generators, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, etc.
Very strong communication and documentation skills is a must
Ability to execute tasks with minimum direction
Computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
PADS, PADS Logic, SAP and CRM experience preferred but not required
Ability to solder / perform rework down to the SMT level
Knowledge of programming concepts preferred

Electronics Technician II
INTERNAL CANDIDATES GIVEN FIRST CONSIDERATION
Performs organizational level servicing, scheduled and unscheduled avionics and electronics maintenance on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) including inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and analysis of aircraft avionics and electronic systems, subsystems, associated components, ground control stations (GCS), ground data terminals (GDT), Fiber Optic data lines with working knowledge of Fixed Site Satcom Terminal (FSST), Satcom Earth Terminal Subsystem (SETSS) ground satellite systems and test equipment. Applies program knowledge to implement and manage Communication Security (COMSEC), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), and Data Integrity Team (DIT) ancillary programs as required by Supervisor. Working knowledge of UAS unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, multi-meters, dial indicators, micrometers, and other special tools and equipment. Uses and interprets technical orders (TO’s) and technical data to apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose maintenance problems and determine appropriate corrective action.
Essential Duties and
* Performs servicing and inspections on UAS aircraft, GCS, GDT, UAS systems, UAS sub-systems, Single Bay Station, ground satellite systems and related UAS equipment.
Performs avionics and electronic maintenance tasks for aircraft, GCS, GDT, Fiber Optic, Single Bay Station and ground satellite systems to include launch, recovery, post- flight, pre-flight, thru-flight and periodic inspections.
Removes and installs UAS/GCS avionics/electronic system components/cables (copper, fiber, etc.) and conducts functional and operational tests.
Adjusts, aligns and rigs UAS/GCS avionics and electronic systems.
Performs aircraft jacking, lifting, towing, and manual movement.
Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation and operation.
Operates and inspects powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.
Reviews and completes aircraft maintenance forms and enters data into the Integrated. Maintenance Data System (IMDS), responsible to ensure all data is accurate and complete.
Prepares and submits material and product deficiency reports.
Conducts on-the-job training for Technicians when directed by supervision.
Occasionally required to lead teams through maintenance tasks.
Complies with all COMSEC regulations and ensures the security of all cryptographic equipment and aircraft/GCS components at all times.
Performs DIT analysis and corrective actions.
Performs routine FOD inspections.
Responsible to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
May be required to meet typical Cross Utilization Training (CUT) qualifications to include IMDS Aircraft De-Brief, Tool Control and Accountability, Aircraft Launch and Recovery, Aircraft Servicing, Aircraft Fuel/De-Fuel, Aircraft Movement/Towing.
