Utilize technical expertise in assigned commodity design and manufacturing equipment to work with suppliers in developing optimal product designs and manufacturing processes.
Initiate and manage the 9-step process with the use of Lean/Six Sigma tools by partnering with Technology to identify, understand and abate issues for NPI and C changes.
Conduct Critical Part Risk Reviews related to system performance, reliability or quality.
Steer projects involving supplier moves, process and material changes. Support design change projects.
Interface with Electronics suppliers, OEMs and manufacturing sites to improve Electronics initiatives for the business.
Identify new PCB/PCBA processes, tools and contacts within the industry – including new suppliers, instruments, or processes to further advance the business.
Promote the use of quality tools, Supplier Composite Scorecard and other data to identify and steer quality projects across all suppliers resulting in the overall improvement of supplier value to GEA (Delivery, quality, cost)
Monitor and resolve supplier process control performance issues by developing robust quality control plans and implementing sustainable corrective actions
Deliver permanent resolution of manufacturing issues and consumer issues caused by supplier defects.
Head projects involving supplier moves, process and material changes. Support design change projects.
Manage Supplier Quality initiatives, and develop activities to fix-or-exit problematic suppliers by implementing robust corrective actions or qualifying alternate suppliers.
Manage problem definition and reactive problem solving through containment, identification of root cause and corrective action with SCAR.
Ability to simplify complex information and concisely prepare both verbal and written executive summaries to the Appliance Leadership Team.
Manage and own Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements associated with a change.
Perform annual audits to monitor supplier QMS (Quality Management System) compliance and effectiveness.
Identify areas for cost reduction across assigned supplier base including internal supplier process, quality improvements, Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) and material usage.

Performs complex Electrical Engineering duties following designated standards and procedures. Works closely with engineering disciplines. Essential Job Duties and
Develops and designs circuit, component, subsystem, and equipment interfaces and procurement specifications of products for intelligent traffic management systems, including detection systems.
Prepares design specifications, analyses and recommendations.
Performs circuit interconnection or subsystem prototype assembly.
Prepares design and operation objectives, specifications and resource needs.
Recommends test control, strategies, apparatus and equipment.
Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
Conducts in-house design reviews and technical meetings.
Prepares design proposal to reflect cost, schedule and technical approaches.
Monitors project status and progress.
Manages budget and schedule for electrical engineering tasks.
Keeps abreast of improvements in electronic engineering techniques.
Support prototype construction, debug and tests
Log, compile and evaluate engineering data
Write engineering manuals, procedures and reports
Analyze equipment to establish operating data
Develop logic flowcharts and block diagrams
May support on-site installation activities
May give work assignments and check work of technicians or design support personnel on a common project
May provide technical direction and guidance to Design Engineers, Technicians, or Design Support personnel assigned to work on a common project
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in electronic engineering or science discipline plus a minimum of five years experience or an applicable Master's of Science degree and three years of related experience.
At least 3 years experience in designing, developing and testing electronics products.
Experience programming microprocessors or FPGA / CPLD.
Solid experience with test/validation and troubleshooting.
Experience in RF designs is a plus.
Linux background is a plus.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to use typical office automation products such as word processors and spreadsheets.
Mental ability to perform analytical work.
Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
Good interpersonal skills.
May be required to travel domestically and internationally to include working odd hours, in-line with customer requirements.
Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary.

Senior Electronics Design Engineer
Development of the Electronic Control Unit hardware our mechatronic system in close cooperation with E/E component suppliers and our mechanical and software development teams.
Develop Electronic Control Unit system based on chosen Electrical/Electronics architecture
Specify requirements of Electronic Control Units including functional, diagnostic, safety, manufacturing and test requirements.
Monitor compliance of internal requirements and design implementation to end customer (OEM) requirements
Lead creation of electrical hardware schematics based on customer and internal requirements and contribute to improvement of current electrical hardware schematics designs
Maintain knowledge of the automotive semiconductor market by interfacing with electronics component suppliers to select integrated circuits and passive components
Lead development and change management of Design Failure Modes Effects and Analysis of Electronic Control Units at the component level
Lead development of design justification/Worst Case Circuit Analysis to validate design selection and have the ability/willingness to guide colleagues in their own analyses
Support Functional Safety team on all Electronic Control Unit related tasks, such as safety related E/E hardware concepts, reliability data for FTA analysis, and interpretation of ISO26262 requirements.
Support Operations (Purchasing, Plant, Program Management and Commercial on all E/E component related tasks such as supplier evaluation, E/E components release, Samples deliveries, etc.)
Be technical point of contact for the end customer (OEM) on all E/E related items
Perform analysis of field-return Electronic Control Units.
Perform EMC pre-compliance measurements and draw conclusions on the appropriate design measures to address issues
Interface with Manufacturing teams and collaborate on development of End of Line specification
Formal qualifications required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's Degree preferred)
Previous experience required:
- Five years of experience in electronics hardware design and layout for automotive
applications, preferably in powertrain or chassis.
Experience performing worst case circuit analysis
Experience in EMC design rules and improvement measures
Strong functional safety background, with the ability to take high-level Functional Safety technical requirements and translate them to design
Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills
