Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and material assessment of various types of Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE) mechanical systems and components in accordance with Navy guidance and OEM technical specifications in CONUS & OCONUS as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses technical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and identify causes for equipment/system failure to the component level.

Provides written reports for all work accomplished and completed action documentation.
Operates air brake equipped vehicles during the course of troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.
Performs other duties as assigned in support of maintenance/repair as required.
Maintains shop equipment.
Travels oversees when required.
Performs daily shop clean up.
Adheres to established Hazmat/Hazwaste utilization and disposal procedures.

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) at The Louisiana State University (LSU) continues its significant growth of faculty. The Department is currently seeking excellent applicants to fill two tenure-track positions in Mechanical Engineering.
The College of Engineering (CoE) at LSU is experiencing a period of unprecedented growth, which includes a brand new $110M engineering complex, a result of a public- private partnership.
The CoE actively encourages interdisciplinary research including, but not limited to, Advanced Manufacturing and Materials, Energy, and BioTechnology. It is the largest of seven departments in the CoE and is currently home to 26 Mechanical Engineering faculty, 8 Industrial Engineering Faculty, and a vibrant undergraduate and graduate student body. The faculty conduct funded research across a broad spectrum of traditional and emerging areas.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a growing Manufacturing and Materials Team and contribute to developing a Manufacturing Minor in the College of Engineering.
At least one degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a Ph.D. in Engineering or related scientific field (ABD candidates will be considered so long as degree requirements are met prior to August, 2018); at least four years of experience, including graduate study; experience in advanced manufacturing.
Background in any area of advanced manufacturing in metals/alloys or bio-manufacturing is welcome, including but not limited to: additive manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, digital manufacturing, friction stir welding, tissue engineering, bio-printing and their applications.
