The Lemartec Estimator position is responsible for pre-construction planning, pre-bid attendance, bid management, and estimating activities. The primary job responsibility of this position will be the coordination of information between team members in the Estimating Department, accurately estimate complete quantity takeoffs and manage drawings, specifications, sub-contractor and vendor data. Responsibilities include following company and department policies and procedures, and the building and maintaining of strategic relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors, and document control.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Drafting and under the specific direction of the responsible Engineer or Design Drafter, creates simple layouts of new products; modifications to existing or similar products using various manual and computer aided techniques. The Drafter is responsible to convert the layouts and sketches into working detail drawings independently or with help and direction from Designers, Senior Designers, or Engineers. NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
The incumbent will work closely with Drafting or Engineering, developing their thoughts and sketches into simple layouts, drawings, and schematics. He/She should have a well developed ability for clear and accurate drawing presentation, the judgment to suggest alternatives, and a familiarity of previous designs necessary for incorporation of product and manufacturing ideas. Project Manager, Eng & Const
Perform duties in support of efforts related to the successful completion of capital projects including light rail development, buildings and site development, station and guideway rehabilitation, and safety improvements as a fully competent and experienced project manager. Duties include working on a range of architectural, urban design, civil and transportation design tasks, requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, and assisting in the resolution of complex design, engineering, community, planning and policy issues.
This role may also include architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, engineering, and sustainability knowledge disciplines. May include responsibility for policy and criteria maintenance/development, design, design management, design and construction procurement, inspection, replacement and rehabilitation for light rail stations and related features and amenities.

1.Provide project management services including as assigned architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, engineering and sustainability knowledge disciplines, in developing conceptual and detailed design of LRT & related facilities in the Portland metropolitan area, including preparation of designs, calculations, cost estimates, environmental impact data, documentation and public presentation material. All design work is performed under the supervision of a design professional or Professional Engineer, licensed in the State of Oregon.
2.Perform field work to become familiar with project areas. Conduct survey tasks to update project mapping.
3.Prepare work scopes for staff and consultant tasks. Assist with the procurement and administration of consultant services.
4.Conceptualize street and light rail and/or track designs and develop engineering descriptions, including plans profiles, traffic interface, utility relocation, cost estimates, and environmental impact data.
5.Work and coordinate with other TriMet Capital Projects, planning, operations staff, staff from other jurisdictions, and consultants.
6.Prepare minutes, documentation, specifications and technical reports and review such material generated by others.
7.Prepare material for, and make presentations to, technical peer groups and community meetings.
8.Supervise or coordinate the work of consultants, design/engineering technicians, drafters and other support staff as required for specific assignments and within the guidelines provided by the Engineering Manager.
9.Represent TriMet at various interagency meetings as a technical representative.
10. Assist the Project Manager and/or Construction Manager in administering and managing the Design and Construction contracts. Perform tasks as assigned including, but not limited to: Design reviews, Submittals, RFIs, Permits, Monthly pay requests, Change Order estimating and resolution, Maintaining As-builts and Artwork coordination.
11. Responsible for initiating and tracking changes during design, permitting and construction. Responsible for negotiating changes with local jurisdictions or contractors. Preparation of design change documents and construction cost change documents. Prepare reports and supporting documentation for design and/or construction cost changes.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
Professional registration from the State of Oregon (or ability to obtain within 6-months) as a Professional Engineer or certification as a CCM or PMP is highly desired.
A minimum of six (6) years total credited experience.
- Demonstrated experience with with transit station design and urban design integration, design and/or project management for amenities in the public realm, knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ADA-related), as well as general civil design, experience with Light rail-related common environmental requirements, project schedules and cost estimating and relevant procurement practices.
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- The amount of credit a candidate receives for prior years of experience is based on the relevancy of that experience to the required or preferred prerequisites of the job description. Experience is prorated based on hours worked. LRHR assigns and validates the "credited experience".
