This position is primarily responsible for all sales activity within the Experimental Aircraft and Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) market segments and will focus on facilitating Garmin’s growth in this expanding market segment, offer superior support to Garmin dealers and end-customers and identify and cultivate sales channels to maximize revenue.
In this role, you’ll also be responsible for these essential functions:
Develop and execute sales strategies which maximize sales growth and market share in Experimental Aircraft and LSA market segments
Participate in public forums such as Van’s Air Force as a knowledgeable product expert and member of Garmin’s “Team X”
Be immersed in the market to understand LSA manufacturer, dealer and end-user needs, evaluate and communicate competitive landscape, specify market requirements and identify innovative solutions for success
Assist end-users with purchase decisions and basic avionics installation considerations
Serve as technical and operational resource to customers who have Garmin Avionics for their Experimental and LSA aircraft
Aggressively promote all non-certified and certified products as applicable within this market segment
Aggressively promote the display of Garmin products in this segment at select trade shows
Coordinate, schedule and present seminars and webinars focused on Experimental Aircraft and relevant product offerings, hosted by Garmin
Coordinate strategic LSA and/or OEM market-specific initiatives with all sales managers globally
Build long-lasting relationships with key industry partners
Identify specific product line and feature growth opportunities and develop analysis for the company’s consideration
Develop and harmonize product line presentations and marketing communications to this market segment
Coordinate with the industrial design team to develop or update kiosks used at major tradeshows

Through complete understanding of the competitive landscape, recommend product pricing for new and existing products
Responsible for the creating and/or updating 1-year rolling forecast (on a monthly basis) for these product categories
Review and contribute to the 5-year strategic forecast on a quarterly basis
Provide diligent follow-up to dealers, customers and internal requirements, regardless of travel
Other responsibilities include collaborating with Marketing Communications to deliver creative and high impact printed collateral, video media, website content and product launches. Additionally developing marketing strategies which increase aviation product exposure and sales with Aviation Dealers via their print, digital, web and tradeshow marketing efforts.
A Bachelors Degree from an accredited four year college or university AND a minimum of 2 years experience in Avionics Sales or a position substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description are required for this role.

The Vandalia Experimental Mechanic B will build prototype parts and mechanisms for new machines or improvements in existing machines as well as support shop operations.

Perform advanced, specialized or prototype production operations of major space structures.
Utilizing predetermined setups and operating methods, adjust and simultaneously operate a variety of numerically controlled and/or conventional equipment capable of performing various functions such as, but not limited to, forming, bonding, welding, machining, drilling, cutting, robotic and otherwise automated and/or manual assembly.
Perform all tasks involved in the preparation, set up and operation of thermal processing tools and equipment.
Interpret standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, job layouts, etc. to accomplish assigned work.
Ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
Conduct routine preventative work to maintain and ensure cleanliness of equipment.
Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in machining and/or assembly process.
Perform necessary drilling, riveting, assembly or subassembly, including bonding and sealing as required.
Use any and all precision measuring instruments, gauges, tools, etc., necessary to check machine readiness and to check completed parts for finish, dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.
Perform all tasks involved in the coordination, preparation, and movement of material and tools.
Operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignment.
Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.
Work with Engineering, Planning, research engineers, etc. to originate and develop new procedures, techniques and production aids to facilitate equipment operations and to support design and implementation of new products.

Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
The employee must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
Must be able to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

This position performs maintenance and manufacturing tasks to aircraft, aircraft parts and components in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Erickson requirements. Complies with all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures as a team player. Willing and able to work long hours and travel as required to meet company requirements. Provide support to internal and external customers to meet customer requirements.
Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, fabrication, manufacturing, maintenance, and assembly of aircraft and aircraft parts, components and wiring. Documenting work per company, customer and regulatory requirements.
Install aircraft parts and components to aircraft at the fixed base of operations (FBO) and in the field environment.
Read, interpret, and comply with Repair Station Quality Manual, Production Certificate Quality Manual, Standard Operation Procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, Technical Manuals, Drawings, and Specifications.
Work in a team environment and follow Erickson Guiding Principles.
Achieve and maintain task qualifications for all work performed.

4-9 years of experience working with avionics in an aircraft maintenance and / or manufacturing environment.
