Operate, adjust, and maintain offset printing machine and other accessory equipment in printing a variety of different materials involving straight, half-tone and multi-color runs; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Level I position is responsible for operating one or more offset printing machines in printing a variety of materials for which determinations have been made on layout, and paper stock and inks to be used.
Level II position is responsible for operating offset machines in printing a variety of publication and forms involving multi-color and half-tone work and requiring proper selection of ink, determination of stock and major adjustment to machines to accommodate a variety of runs.
Level III position is responsible for being in charge of a printing unit involving discussing and advising on printing jobs with departmental personnel, estimating costs, organizing and scheduling work, periodically instructing clerical workers in the use of duplicating and accessory machines, and maintaining supplies and equipment, and operates one or more offset printing machines.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
General Experience: One (1) year for Level I, two (2) years for Level II, three (3) years for Level III of experience in the operation of one or more types of offset machines in printing different materials involving two (2) or more colors, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which included multicolor work and the operation of offset machines.

The work includes preparing the presses for production, operating the presses or any of their components, cleaning the presses and the pressroom, maintaining the mechanical readiness of the presses, and other duties as assigned. Every member of the pressroom staff constantly strives to achieve the following goals, and the contribution of every press operator is necessary for success:
Optimum quality of printed products.
Observance of all scheduled start and stop times.
Conservation of material resources, especially newsprint.
A clean and safe working environment.
This position requires a high school education or equivalent. Experience in web offset printing is desirable, although production experience of any kind may be helpful.
Mechanical ability and familiarity with computers is preferred. Candidates should have the ability to adapt to change, prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, remain flexible and interact with people while demonstrating patience. You must be able to lift/carry up to 100 pounds.
Must be able to push/pull up to 2000 pounds. A press operator spends most working hours on his/her feet. In addition to long periods of standing, a press operator is required to climb stairs on the six-level press structure.
Operators engaged in press maintenance and some cleaning activities will be required to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. They often work in confined areas. Color vision is required.
This position is full-time shift work, which may include scheduled nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for completion of quality product per specification and quality standards. Operating multiple wide format presses (Vutek, Anapurna, Epson)
