The Frame Joiner is responsible for the joining and assembly of wall décor and custom frames. This position works in a team environment to accomplish the common goal of producing and assembling wall décor and custom frames for distribution. Employees will be trained in multiple disciplines including but not limited to: identifying various types of frame molding, accurate joining of frame molding, assembling and joining of frames, and production of wall décor and custom frames. Employees must be dependable, have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work at a fast pace.

Sr. Engineer - Frame Engineering
Summary of Role:
GLOBALFOUNDRIES is looking for an highly motivated early career engineer with semiconductor product and software development interests to work in the Tapeout Operations Organization as a Frame Engineer located in Burlington, Vermont. You will primarily be responsible for developing frames bordering internal or client supplied chip designs to support the generation of semiconductor testsite and product masks primarily for, but not limited to, Fab 9 (Burlington, Vermont) and Fab 10 (East Fishkill, New York). Collaboration with Fab8 (Malta, NY) and other worldwide team members is anticipated. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering content within the frames using various computer aided physical design tools and scripting abilities. The successful candidate will enjoy a variety of assignments that may include (1) developing automation to generate frames involving placement of electrical and optical structures known as Process Control Monitoring (PCM) structures in proximity to customer designs, (2) contributing to test efforts for our unique frame software and infrastructure, (3) evaluating and optimizing our engineering development processes. This role requires a close working relationship with the engineers that use semiconductor manufacturing tools (i.e., lithography and metrology) and test tools in our Fabs. The successful candidate will also enjoy delivering continuously improving products in the increasingly complex world of chip manufacturing as well as be focused on minimizing the cycle time to generate production frames for our high volume technology offerings. Additionally, you may have opportunities for programming the Frame infrastructure involving the use of various computer languages and databases running on a Linux operating system. The successful candidate may assist with designing and developing software solutions, in addition to contributing to test efforts as stated previously, to insure high availability and quality operation is sustained during development as well as production.
Engage with Technology Development, Process Integration, Metrology, Photolithography, Characterization, Data Preparation, Design Services, and Mask House teams for specifications to design the overall frame structure inclusive of electrical and optical designs.
Use or customize Process Design Kits (PDKs) as well as other physical design tools, to generate an overall frame structure which contains electrical and optical designs, to enable reticle level products to be manufactured.
Verify the accuracy of electrical and optical designs as well as the overall frame structure using Design Rule Checking (DRC) tools or similar custom scripts and work with the specification owners to gain approval by the Waiver Review Board (WRB) when applicable.
Provide input and assess progress to our project schedules.
Participate in meetings with peer Frame teams located in the US, India and Singapore.
Interact with other teams such as Field Application Engineering, Product Engineering, Release Team, and Design Enablement, to assist with providing a best-in-class Tapeout Operations experience.
Interact with external clients to understand and support their needs.
Participate with assessing our team business processes and suggest continuous improvements as well as automation opportunities to enhance the teams' productivity.
