• Position Description:
• SUMMARY: Entry level punch press machine operation. Operates a variety of punch press equipment to produce metal parts that meet print specifications. May include basic machine set-up.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities with an emphasis on safety.
• With close supervision, operates most types of punch press equipment, including coil or sheet fed presses and drill presses, by feeding and controlling their operation.
• Receives and works from work orders and prints for each job, using shop calculations/math if necessary, to ensure proper types, quantities and quality of each part are produced.
• Uses a variety of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform part inspections before and during each production run.
• Monitors machines at all times for proper operation.
• Completes all shop traveler and timekeeping documentation as required for each job.
• Continuous learning with regard to machine operation in order to gain skills and proficiency to operate more complicated machines on more difficult work, including machine setup.
• Works with close supervision in coordination with other team members and other departments in the company,
• Maintains regular and timely attendance.

Some items produced are electrical mechanical assemblies, brackets, handles, machined valves, and many more. We work with a wide range of materials including Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Spring Steel, Bronze, and Copper. We are a high mix, variable quantity metal manufacturer. Our uniqueness is that we do not deal with the same product every day.
The Punch Press Operator will run a variety of Punch Presses ranging in tonnage from 50-400 Tons. These are industrial pieces of equipment used to stamp, and form metal parts out of sheet stock and coils. Ameristar Mfg. runs a wide range of quantities from 1 to 1,000,000 PCS. The operator is expected maintain an in-process inspection of the parts measuring critical part dimensions to ensure quality product is produced all within the quoted times provided on the work packet. Run tooling such as compound, stage, progressive dies
Maintain concentration over long periods of repetitive work
Evaluate Quality and Stop when errors occur
Provide First and Last Pieces to Quality for Inspection
Tool Experience Preferred:
Micrometer, Height Gauge, Caliper, (Training will be provided for measuring equipment if needed)
Setup Personnel should be experienced with the setup and changing of various different stamping tools in a wide range of machines. The setup operator should be able to adjust coils, feeders, robotic feeders, evaluate machine capability and speed. Setup of a range of compound, progressive, and stage tools will be required.
