Sets up and operates compression molding machines to mold fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Glass mat thermoplastics to specifications: Installs dies on press, using clamps, bolts, and handtools, and coats dies with parting agents, according to work order
Sets thermostat to regulate temperature of dies
Weighs premixed compounds and dumps compound into die well, spreads fabric on die and dumps compound over fabric
Presses button or pulls lever to activate machines to compress compounds between dies to form and cure specified products
Observes meters and gauges to verify specified temperatures, pressures, and press-cycle times
Removes cured products from mold, using handtools and airhose
Observes machine operation and examines products ejected by machines to determine whether products meet specifications. Examines molded product for surface defects, such as dents, bubbles, thin areas, and cracks
Reports defect in molds to supervisor
Plans CNC machining by studying work orders, blueprints, CAD files, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
Sets-up CNC machines by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers
Loads materials into CNC machines to be formed and shaped
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces
Adjusts machine speeds and feeds and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications
Inspects products upon completion to ensure it matches specifications. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
Utilizes lean manufacturing principles including: 5-S, Kanban, and one-piece flow.
Interfaces with employees and managers within the department and Manufacturing Engineering

Sewer operates equipment to join pre-cut materials, attach or insert components using: various mechanical equipment, electronically controlled single or multi-needle sewing machines; other equipment. Materials being sewn together have had other sewing operations performed where sewing tolerances have been altered. Since tolerances have been altered by previous sewing operations, these sewing tasks required additional skills to make pieces fit together due to variance among pieces. Sewer will also inspect and package various products produced and/or distributed by the company. # Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management as necessary.
Operates single, multiple-needle, or automatic machines to join pre-cut materials, and/or attach zippers to other hardware.
Starts and stops and controls speed of machine with controls and guides parts under needle following edges, seams or markings on pre-cut materials.
Monitors stitching to detect defects to insure acceptable quality.
Selects thread and other components according to bill of material.
Thread machine, winds and changes the bobbin.
Cuts excessive material or thread with scissors / nippers when necessary.
Routinely check fabric for defects, runs, stains, missed stitches. Performs repairs on defected merchandise as needed.
Performs required daily machine maintenance and adjustment.Includes but is not limited to adjusting thread tension, dusting machine, wipe off oil, adjust stitches per inch.
Notifies sewing machine repair person when experiencing problems with machine.
May be required to turn garments right side out, preparing garment for inspection, folding and packaging.
Insert foam into assembled life vests according to specifications, counting correctnumber of layers of foam
Thread belt through loops, thread buckle component onto webbing, and snap buckles shut.
Affix UPC tag and Think Safe Pamphlet on vest with a ticket gun according to specifications
Place product in box and closes box using tape machine or hand tape and places boxes to be taken to warehouse.
Perform the Inflate and Deflate process. Keep required records as set by quality standards.
Completes required documentation including but not limited to recording production quantities, downtime, scrap, traceability, component usage
Responsible for injury prevention and promoting safety by keeping work area neat, clean and organized.
This position may require the ability to train and or mentor other Sewer II’s.
Participates in employee wellness and exercise program.
Performs miscellaneous other assignments as required.
Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as listed above between the assigned start and end times for work.

Ability to fill out production sheets and traceability sheets after training. Ability to communicate with other employees in the organization or notify assigned personnel there is an issue that needs to be addressed. Interpreter will be provided by Coleman as required to confirm understanding. # Mathematical
Ability to read numbers, count, add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Measure using a ruler.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to comply with company’s and regulatory agencies quality standards. Interpreter will be provided by Coleman as required to confirm understanding.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time. The employee may be required to use fingers, hands and arms and foot pedal to operate machines and reach for, hold, grasp, push/pull, and handle material repetitively with a high degree of dexterity. Industrial Sewing Machine Operator
This position requires the finishing of signs and banners and may assist in mounting and laminating jobs.
· Processes, comprehends, and follows detailed written and verbal instructions.
· Finishes out the banners by applying grommets, taping and sewing as per instructions on workorder.
· Operates and maintains various laminating and mounting devices.
· Retrieves rolls of media from stock and loads laminating devices.
· Retrieves boards for mounting.
· Proofs final products for any errors and accuracy of order.
· Completes paperwork for the billing process.
· Gathers, organizes and wraps completed work for delivery to customer or next department.
· Operates an industrial sewing machine to sew banners and fabric signage
· Operates a hand trimming device, wall cutter, panel saw, and paper cutter.
· Other duties as assigned.
