Foam Fabricator B, 2Nd Shift
Performs a variety of set up and operation duties to ensure cushions fit container configurations.
What You'll Do:
Works from part drawings, bill of materials, assembly drawings, written and/or verbal instructions. Maximizes stock usage. Performs activities necessary for layout of sub-component construction and assembly for a variety of first-time and repeat insert requirements.
Sets up and performs basic operations utilizing equipment such as vertical, horizontal and profile saws, die cutting press, and glue applicators. Selects stock and cuts sheet stock to proper dimensions and tolerances.
Uses computer network to bring up file at Water Jet. Sets adjustments, pressures, etc. according to charts, tables for foam type and dimensions. Operates Water Jet to obtain proper cuts and pieces. Checks parts for acceptance. Resolves and/or brings to attention of group leader, supervisor cut file problems and to attention of cut file programmer.
Lays out and glues foam sub-components and components for final assembly through lamination operations.
Performs self-inspections on completed assemblies.
Maintains established quality and quantity standards. Follows prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision. Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
Maintains daily production and other records as required.
Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Rubber Injection Operator
Pay Rate $ 17.67/hour
Job Duties Summary:
Operates multiple rubber injection molding presses and other machines in cell. Cure rubber or rubber/metal bushings under pressure and heat per work instructions. Keeps the press operating within the required average rate by servicing the mold as required during the cycle. Assists in mold changing, changing of Teflon inserts, and cleaning of molds using dry ice mold cleaner.
As a mold separates during the change cycle, remove all excess flash, clean and spray all necessary parts of the mold, remove bushings, either by hand or with mechanical assistance, inspect bushings for visual defects, and place bushings into container. Load mold with metal inserts, if required, activate the press for the next cycle, take mold temperature measurements as required, and trim finished bushings as required.
Maintain records per work instructions and other production related documents.
Performs process checks such as bond push-out test, mold temperature checks and other process verifications related to quality assurance.
Notify foreman immediately of lack of material, equipment malfunction or failure, or quality problems.
Assist other injection press operators as required. Maintain press, work area, and other equipment in the area in a neat, clean, safe, and orderly condition.
Performs own material handling with various types of equipment such as walkies and forklifts.
Must apply all environmental and safety procedures as outlined in work instructions.
Requires the ability to read and write and follow detailed instructions. General knowledge of rubber injection curing process is also required. Operating practices are well defined and outlined, requires some judgment in making minor decisions. Makes decisions based on established procedures. Must be able to read and understand all work instructions including those pertaining to safety and environmental impacts.
Physical effort, continuous standing and walking, occasional stairs are required. Must work at a consistent, timed pace to avoid causing interruptions in the machine mold cycle. Requires continuous visual and mental attention in performance of job duties.
Some factory experience a plus.

Job Description: SummaryOperate the RNS and ISM assembly inspection equipment per the documented procedures.
Perform quality inspections, line clearances and record per the documented procedure and notify Quality and Rubber Parts leadership of issues. This position supports other operations in Rubber parts as required by Leadership. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to speak, read and write English. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
The duties are to include, but not limited to:
Light manual assembly, 100% inspection to packaging requirements and machine operation. Must be familiar with specifications outlined in the process procedures, Quality Control Specifications, Drawings and GMP Manuals.
Perform and record quality checks and line clearances as required per documentation. Will be required to wear appropriate apparel for entry into the clean room environment. Must comply with protective clothing policy and all safety policies.
The operation includes, getting components from the warehouse, issuing goods to production orders, bagging, packaging, labeling and palletizing components and staging components for each operation per documented procedure. Will be required to operate material handling equipment. Operations may include starting and stopping machine, selecting the correct wash/silicone cycle, performing line clearances, fill hoppers, bagging, packaging/ labeling and palletizing components per documented procedures.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
Maintain and assure Fabrication personnel comply with Safety and Environmental controls.
Daily, choose one employee and do "work safe touch point" observation of their work areas to reinforce proper conditions: 5S, Safety & proper tools in place, area layout is clear of congestion & trip hazards.
Maintain overall Fabrication area is 5S'd and Housekeeping conditions are acceptable to assure shop injury risks are defined and corrected.
Review and validate production employees complete daily required production records; safety inspection, inventory and cycle counts, scanning products, shop packet sign offs, inspection records (fork truck, equipment, air nozzles, power tools, etc).
Conduct daily stretching exercises at the beginning of each shift and after lunch to help avoid strains & sprains.
Responsible for training new fabricators on the floor
Assure JSO is reviewed with employee whenever they are moved to new work not previously certified to do.
Work closely with Fabrication supervisor and Operations Manager to ensure orders are fabricated on time.
Working with fabricators to ensure flow of orders is consistent.
Do Quality audits daily, to evaluate product fabricated is compliance to customer order.
Communication with Fabrication supervisor and or Operations Manager of any issues on orders (ex. defective material, material shortages, etc.).
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
High School diploma/GED (minimum)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 5 years of experience in fabricating architectural doors and frames plus 2 years as a Senior Fabricator with YKK AP; or equivalent combination of education and experience
