This position reports to the Director of TS&S, Fluorine Products and is responsible for leading technical service and growth projects, primarily in the foam blowing agent market. The candidate will have responsibility for providing TS&S support to one or more specific market segments, initially the boardstock, panel, and cryogenic (LNG) market segments. Other projects in the Solvent/Aerosol/Heat Transfer programs may also be assigned as required by business and technology leadership.
Additionally, the candidate will have specific project assignments as business needs dictate, but initially the list of projects the candidate will lead may include (1) foam property improvement, (2) thermoplastic foam blowing agent technology development, (3) boardstock facer adhesion/compatibility, and (4) blowing agent blend development.
Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to assisting in the development and implementation of strategic plans, annual operating plans, budgets, R&D programs, IP strategies, new product development strategies, competitive assessments, lab process improvements, coordination of activities of the three global blowing agent laboratories, strong interactions with other internal functions, especially sales and marketing, participation in trade associations, and establishing productive working relationships with customers, co-suppliers, and other industry influencers.
The candidate has strong leadership skills, is results oriented, and has a process focus. Good interpersonal and supervisory skills and ability to work with a variety of customer types is necessary. Experience in working with unions is desirable. The candidate must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

This position is responsible for verify suitability of all raw materials and finished goods. Tasks include testing of finished product during and after production. Raw material incoming inspection and warehouse inspection.
Primary responsibilities include:
Foam reactivity and density
Foam core density testing
Compressive Strength testing
3D compressive Strength testing
Dimensional stability testing
Cold box testing
Facer Peel testing (adhesion)
Attribute testing for aesthetics
Inputting data into the quality assurance database/SFIS system
Warehouse Unit Inspection
Housekeeping of Plant inside and out
Assist in training of new team members
Cut feet and blocks
Assist as needed with all steps of the production process to ensure the safe and timely production of quality material

Skills & Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge of manufacturing/processing specifications and quality standards for products.
Knowledge of the operation of product test equipment.
Knowledge of equipment calibration
Knowledge of safety aspects of all equipment as well as the plant's general safety policies
Understanding the impact of sending incorrect/defective product.
Other skills include the ability to read close tolerance gauges, meters and taupe measures.
Must Certify as a forklift operator
Effective communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts, up to 6 days per week
For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 65 pounds
There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping and pushing and pulling
Temperature changes throughout the year (hot in summer months, cold in winter months)
In addition, this position requires the following abilities: standing, walking, lifting, reaching above shoulders, bending, and twisting
This position is in a warehouse-type facility subject to ambient and outside temperatures; exposure to loud machinery, dust, and mechanical parts. Work surfaces are primarily concrete, and operators will stand while performing their respective job functions. Business is cyclical and may require flexibility in the days of the week worked. Overtime will be required as needed.
