This position is PART-TIME. Tuesday-Friday 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm
Performs systems operations and maintenance. Applies technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions.
Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Automated Storage Module (ASM) equipment and provide technical assistance responding to trouble calls. Involves examining and diagnosing equipment, dismantling or partly dismantling equipment to perform repairs.
Repairs include replacing broken or defective parts, reassembly and making necessary adjustments for operation. Responding to trouble calls involves correcting error codes, misaligned pans, empty bins detected, and retractor motion timed out.
Observe the Storage Retrieval Machine (SRM) while in operation.
Inspect the wire rope.
Check operation of SRM controls and indicators.
Check operations of the lift carriage, retractor and extraction bar.
Check entire SRM for loose bolts, missing parts, noise and vibration.
Check horizontal reducer, vertical reducer, retractor drive motor, side-shift gear motor and end-of-isle buffering.
Check aisle safety controls
Check man-in-aisle condition
Check aisle e-stop pushbuttons
Check the SRM controls and indicators
Check the Maintenance Pendant Controls and Indicators
Check the E-Chain Circuit switches
Inspect the Power Collector Trolley Brushes
Check the sensors, IR Units and EDMs.
Check the SRM Lamps.
Clean the Bar Code Scanner.
Inspect the SRM.

We’re hiring for a full-time Farm Mechanic (Technician) in Tanner, Alabama (just east of Huntsville). You will be performing maintenance along with troubleshooting repairs of our ag equipment and trucks both in the shop and out in the fields. You’ll be working on everything from sprayers, implements, diesel trucks, grain bins and facilities. To support a continuous effort on improving efficiency, you will be focused on developing and maintaining shop organization as well as disciplined project management. You’ll be balancing, in-the-moment needs, with long-term projects.

You might be the ideal candidate if you:
- Hold an Associate’s or Technical School Certification in either diesel technology or agricultural equipment or have equivalent experience
- Bring more than 3 years of mechanical experience working on tractors, heavy equipment or diesel equipment
- Preferably have knowledge of hydraulics, electrical repair and basic welding/fabricating
- You prefer a proactive versus reactive approach to maintenance
- You are able to prioritize what’s important in the moment to balance projects and focused efforts
- Perform maintenance throughout the year on all farm equipment, trucks and facilities
- Conduct and track all routine preventative maintenance (PM) of equipment
- Order necessary parts and equipment; economically source parts and equipment when purchasing
- Maintain an organized work area and shop along with developing practices to improve shop organization
- Assist in other areas in the farm depending on the season

Mechanic Helper 1-Midlantic Machinery
Responsible for care of the "yard", loading/unloading machines, care of inbound/outbound paperwork, getting machines ready for delivery, and performing repair of machinery and components with efficiency & quality. This individual works under the supervision of an experienced mechanic doing the following:

1.Recondition and repair equipment and components
a)Follows instruction by the service manager and Working Forman in performing repairs and other work assigned
b)Order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs
c)Effect the repairs required in a safe and effective manner
d)Ensure that all repairs are completed on time & in an efficient manner as assigned
e)Ensure the cosmetic appearance upon completion as required
f)Ensure all parts and materials not used are returned as per guidelines
g)Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition
2.Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies and outside purchases in repairs
a)All record-keeping methods are followed as per instructions

3.Maintain and care for Company shop tools, equipment and vehicles
a)All specialty tools used on the job are obtained using established methods

d)Maintains and provides all basic hand and diagnostic tools to perform the work assigned as set by the service manager
4.Communicates with others professionally
a)All communications with customers is conducted in a manner reflecting respect, honesty and promoting a positive company image
b)All communications with co-workers is conducted following the "golden rule"
5.Perform diagnostic inspections as directed
a)All inspections required to determine cause of failure is done following established guidelines
b)All inspections are completed with cause of failure identified
c)All failures identified are matched to solutions necessary to affect a repair

The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery or mechanical equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
Examines machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.
Dismantles or partly dismantles machines and performs repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
Replaces broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock.
Orders the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sends the machine to a machine shop for major repairs.
Prepares written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shop.
