The position will play an integral role in providing leadership and support the day-to-day Receiving & Shipping Team to drive processes, programs and best practices, assisting in formulating a strong partnering with the Operations supervisors and employees. Workers will plant, cultivate and harvest crops named in this job order. Workers will be responsible for preparation of fields beds, assisting in installation of drip irrigation and black plastic.
Workers will operate various farm equipment including trucks and tractors. Farm and field sanitation: All workers will be responsible for picking up trash, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors and other farm sanitation duties.
Field Maintenance Workers will be responsible for general field preparation and clean up. Workers will prepare the field for planting, including tiling, laying rows, setting up and moving irrigation pipe and laying plastic mulch. At the end of the season the works will perform post-harvest field clean up including removing plastic mulch.
Workers will set up irrigation system, move, and take down irrigation system at the end of the season. Workers must have at least 3 months verifiable experience hand harvesting a perishable crop. Applicants must be able to furnish affirmative job references from recent employers operating comparable operations establishing acceptable previous experience.
Workers must be able to bend, stoop, sit and stand on feet for long periods of time. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order, including lifting of 75lbs. Must be able to work in hot humid weather for extended periods of time.
