For our farm, we’ve taken a leap into raising antibiotic-free, vegetable-fed turkeys, which has been a new opportunity for us. We were approached by Jennie-O Turkey Store to raise antibiotic-free, vegetable-fed turkeys back in July 2016. We are excited for the opportunity and we feel it creates good working conditions for us working in the barns as for the bird.
Farmworker - Apple Orchard
Workers will plant trees, do fence and trellis repair and maintenance, cut away dead and excess branches from fruit trees using handsaws, pruning hooks, and shears. May apply healing compound to pruning wounds, cut down and fertilize trees.
Workers will operate pruning equipment and tractors to remove limbs and brush from pruning sites. Employer will provide housing and utilities at no cost to workers who are unable to return to their place of residence the same day.
Employer will provide 3 meals a day and will charge the worker $12.07 per day.
Employer will provide (on a regular basis) transportation to assure workers access to stores whey they can purchase groceries. Employer guarantees to offer employment for a minimum of 3/4 of the workdays of the total specified period during which the work contract and all its extensions thereof are in effect, beginning with the first day after the worker arrives at place of employment and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or extensions thereof. The employer will reimburse the worker for transportation costs and subsistence to the employer's work site when the worker completes 50% of the work period.
Upon completion of the work contract, employer will pay reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence (travel reimbursement subsistence will be the minimum amount of $12.07 per 24 hour period of travel and the maximum amount will be $51.00 per day with receipts as the maximum amount to be reimbursed for their transportation subsistence expenses) from place of employment to place of recruitment. Neither the ETA nor the State of Wisconsin Job Service are guarantors of the accuracy or truthfulness of the information from the employer. However, if any material misrepresentation is made by the employer, procedures of the Employment Service Complaint System at 20CFR 658, subpart F apply.

Tree Fruit Extension Research And Extension Technician
Summary of Duties This position will focus on soil quality
, fire blight, replant disease and irrigation research and extension. The incumbent will work as part of Tianna DuPont’s Tree Fruit Extension program team in North Central Washington which concentrates in the areas of sustainable pest management, organic tree fruit production, and soil health. The incumbent will perform professional level work on a wide range of duties including field research, complex laboratory analysis, organization of workshops and outreach activities. The incumbent will be responsible for managing and implementing fire blight, orchard floor management, soil quality and irrigation trials, and assisting in outreach efforts. Required duties include field research including implementation, maintenance and data collection in trials. Other required activities include data entry, summary, complex statistical analysis, preparation of presentations and reports, workshop evaluation, and workshop marketing. He/She will assist in facilitating and advertising educational events and creating educational materials. Strong communication skills including written and verbal communication a must. Spanish language fluency highly desired to present and write outreach materials to Spanish language audiences. High level of capability in computer software (spreadsheets, word processing and presentation) and the ability to learn new software required. Requirements include the ability to locate and purchase supplies, schedule and execute activities independently, and learn new procedures and protocols as required. Experimental and analytical skills, precision, reliability, understanding and knowledge of research theory, excellent organizational skills are required. Ability to work outdoors in all-weather required.
