Fastener Testing Technician
The Fastener Testing Technician conducts testing of fastened joints to determine assembly torque specifications, validate engineering designs and assist in the resolution of assembly plant issues. The emphasis is on teamwork with Ford Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, fastener engineers and other fastener test technicians, as well as with fastener and finish suppliers.
Provide fastener and joint testing support including, but not limited to:
Manage parts and test requests coming into the test lab
Basic preparation of test coupons and fixtures prior to testing
Assembly of components prior to testing
Conduct fastener testing, for example torque-angle to failure and joint relaxation
Prepare and transmit test reports to test requestors
High school diploma required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel and Word
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Self–motivated, team oriented and ability to work with others
Experience with automotive systems, components and assembly methods
Experience with automotive fasteners, joint design and power tool technology
Experience in conducting tests and analyzing data
Experience in basic fabrication techniques (machining, welding, etc.) is a plus
Associates degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or associated field is preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION: Entry level shop helper. Will be helping in shop as a general labor person. Will train on grinders, sanders and other hand/power tools once they have proven reliable. Could be assisting our machinist with running presses, lathes, mills, and other machinery. We will train. Will help set up and tear down machines, do changeovers, etc. Will be working near ovens or mixing raw materials following specs to formulate rubber. Good math skills a plus.
