ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Performs training for other operators, as needed. Performs all safety and quality checks on the equipment, and performs required preventive maintenance and other maintenance as required. Must be able to perform multiple functions on a daily basis.

Position Summary Position Summary and Special Duties •Perform stamping and hardening/tempering operations on blade strip using notch and perforating presses, furnaces, and coil make up equipment. With this equipment raw steel strip is perforated through the presses then hardened and tempered through the furnaces.
Use process control methods to achieve optimum machine settings and perform all machine adjustments. Required to pay close attention to detail and procedures to assure the highest strip quality. Operate all strip preparation equipment as required.
Required Skills and Experience Physical requirements: •Be able to move (push, pull, or otherwise manipulate) materials up to 90lb. with assistance and 50lb. independently in order to load and unload machines. •Be able to work in a high temperature environment.

Running the rollover spit up on crash completion.
Safely operate vehicle movers to move crashed vehicles around shop floor, on/off hoists, to/from crash bone yard.
Review and execute post-test strip/de-prep instructions from the build site.
Extract crash test dummies from crashed vehicles and their data/ground cables.
Carefully remove all crash test equipment (DAS, video support equipment, auxiliary power supplies, special harnesses) organize for redistribution to proper shelving areas.
Remove brake abort systems, bleed off and cap brake lines.
Remove racks and onboard fixtures and place in bins for shipment back to build site.
Assist crash test engineers with mechanical tasks when asked, to help facilitate posttest assessments and Quality Assurance inspections. While removing, segregate instrumentation or devices that are damaged or tagged for review.
Conduct tasks to support required fuel system engineer inspections including, removal of vehicle components and/or sheet metal for access to fuel tank, hoses and lines; drain fuel system of dyed Stoddard solvent being careful to not allow stray fluid to stain the vehicle; and remove fuel tank.
Conduct tasks in support of door system performance inspections by door latch system engineers including removal of door at hinge. When requested, cut access holes in sheet metal to inspect latch mechanisms.
