We are looking for Winding Operators – Converting for our world class manufacturing facility in Lock Haven, PA.
As a Winding operator you will have responsibilities that include, equipment operation, troubleshooting equipment, process and quality defects, loading raw materials, quality checks and reporting, process improvment, meeting production goals and housekeeping. Winding Operators will assist their team to ensure safety, quality, customer service, housekeeping, and records are maintained according to our high standards, as well as following necessary GMP, FDA and ISO regulations/guidelines.
Loading and unloading parent rolls by operating a 6,000 lb overhead bridge crane (rolls average approximately 3,000 lbs. per parent roll)
Check each parent roll's ticket and scan it into the system for tracking and quality
Load and unload core chucks using JIB lift trucks from stand to the parent roll cores
prepping rolls for web threading and slabbing residual waste paper from spent cores
Maintaing a clean, safe, organized work area
Loading and threading core stock into the core makers
Keeping up with raw material demands by monitoring levels and resupplying the line
Learn and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Properly thread web and clean out any breaks or wrap ups
Conduct product grade change overs
Make adjustments to the machine and process via the HMI computer interface control panel
Perform routine quality checks of the process and product and log them into the system
Constant standing during a 12-hour shift
Ability to work night shift, 7PM – 7AM
Occasional lifting/carrying boxes up to 50lbs.
Constant light grasping and occasional strong grasping
Constant repetitive use of foot and hand controls
Daily sweeping and organizing work areas

The experienced Winding Technician will have working knowledge of electric motor repair shop services. The winder will prepare stators and/or armatures for AC/DC electric motors and special equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Job Duties and Skills Required:
Will be required to learn and perform our motor stripping process
Inspection and disassembly may be required to determine cause of failure
Perform diagnostic electrical testing
Confirms all winding data is current and accurate and current
Documents best practices
Reviews wiring diagrams and work orders to determine winding specifications
Cuts, shapes, size insulating materials and wire cables or connections.
Cleaning, filing and deburring prior windings
Monitors wire counters, machinery and wiring equipment to adhere to our quality standards and processes
May require lifting up to 50 pounds with proper equipment and lifting technique
Ability to read schematics and diagrams as well as read, write and comprehend the English language
Must have the ability to read, write and apply mathematic calculations using metrics, U.S. standard units of meausre; addition, multiplication, division, distance and ruler measurements
Fork lift and crane experience

Structural Fiberglass Finisher
JOB OVERVIEW: The Structural Finisher works in the Finishing department and has a minimum of two years of structural fiberglass finishing skills, including major structural fiberglass repairs and a complete understanding of Boston Whalers construction methods.
General Responsibilities and Duties:
Follow proper safety procedures at all times.
Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area.
Finishing defective parts to meet the quality standards of Boston Whaler.
Work closely with team lead to ensure production goals are met.
Complete appropriate paperwork located in hull construction records.
The structural fiberglass finisher will spend 80 – 85% of his/her job responsibilities completing shaping and fiberglass lamination work, including construction of pillars and dive doors.
Experience and Education:
Minimum of two years of structural fiberglass finishing skills including shaping and fiberglass lamination work
Must have a proven track record.
Must possess the ability to identify and repair structural defects using approved Boston Whaler Tapping process.
Must possess the ability and skills to perform structural fiberglass repairs to meet the quality standards of Boston Whaler.
High school diploma or GED required

Shift: This position could be for first shift, 5:00am – 3:30pm or 6:00am-4:30pm, or second shift (4:30pm – 3:00am (Mon-Thurs). Overtime frequently required based on business needs. Boston Whaler reserves the right to adjust shifts and times as business needs arise.

JOB SUMMARY: Composite Technicians are responsible for fabricating and repairing fiberglass and carbon fiber items.
This includes designed modifications, both structural and cosmetic of ride vehicles, show figures and other props and products as directed by both Engineering and Management directives. This position is detailed orientated and involves crafting, cutting, trimming, sanding, assembly, vacuum bagging among other operations involved in the successful production of composite materials. It is essential to have a complete understanding of 'Lay Up Charts', drawings, blueprints, and engineered speciation's to insure the quality and structural integrity of parts that are being repaired and manufactured.
Performs structural and cosmetic fiberglass and carbon fiber repairs to ride vehicles which may include direction of Management, Quality Control and the engineering group. Suggests optional procedures for repairs on new and damaged parts and implements changes as needed or directed.
Performs structural and cosmetic fiberglass and carbon fiber repairs to a variety of props, show figures and miscellaneous animation parts. Determines type of resin and catalyst and accurately measures predetermined amounts required for saturation and adhesion of material for the application.
Selects precut layers of mat, cloth, carbon fiber and wood bracing if required for projects being repaired or manufactured.
Applies multiple layers of mat / fiber to surfaces assuring adhesion and repeating the process until the desired thickness, contour and strength is achieved.
Performs gel coating as needed on ride vehicles, props, materials, and miscellaneous parts using spray and brush techniques which may include direction of Management, Engineering and the Quality Control Dept.
Hand lays sections of saturated mat or cloth into place on molds, using proper tooling to insure placement of material is correct. Uses brushes, rollers and squeegees as needed to smooth out air pockets, air bubbles and wrinkles to achieve full contact and proper adhesion.
Design, manufacture and repair both hard and soft molds for composite material products that are used throughout the venues.
Performs hand sculpting of different materials for a variety of props, show figures and miscellaneous parts utilizing catalyzed foam, clay, latex and foam sheets and blocks.
Safely and properly create a vacuum bag barrier on repaired parts and operate a vacuum pump to evacuate all air from the repair area.
EDUCATION: High school degree or GED is required while a completion of a related technical school course is preferred. Previous training in automotive body work, marine or aerospace industries is essential.
EXPERIENCE: 5-7 Years: Structural lay up of composite matting materials as well as grinding and prep for repairs of finished products required.
Additional experience of properly preparing indications and feathering composite materials to insure all affected areas of discrepancies have been removed. Knowledge of spraying and brushing of gel coatings is required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Florida Drivers License/ required to operate company vehicles.

Fiberglass Repair And Detail
This position applies gel coat to production hull and deck molds by using hand operated spray equipment.
Tools and Equipment:
Various pistol grip type spray guns, hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers, utility knives, spray pump systems, protective equipment such as coverall Tyvek suits, head socks, rubber gloves, air supplied spray hoods or respirators, and safety glasses with sides shields.
Perform a pre-spray check of spray equipment and material to insure proper operation and appropriate color
Perform final cleaning of mold surfaces with a tack cloth
Help push mold into booth
Operate spray gun to apply various coats of gel coat to the molds. Specific amounts of gel coat must be applied and are measured with a mill gauge. Specifications as to percentage of coverage of metal flake are required and checked visually
Perform daily cleaning and minor maintenance routines on the spray guns
Keep work area clean, safe, and hazard free
Other duties as assigned

Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid CA Driver's License, and a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Duties will include assisting full-time fiberglass technicians with PM inspections of seatbelts, foam parts, and fiberglass.
Work will consist of fiberglass repairs, foam and upholstery repairs, and replacement of parts. A basic knowledge of hand and power tools is required.
Must be able to follow instructions and work independently when required.
Must be able to read a tape measure, use a level, and run a dry line. Must be able to work various weekdays and weekends
