Utility Meter Field Operations Manager - Department Of Public Works
Class Description
A Utility Meter Field Operations Manager oversees field operations involving water meter maintenance, installation and measurement. The work of this class involves directing the activities of water meter reading, water meter inspection, installation, maintenance, store keeping and distribution work units.
Incumbents receive general supervision from an administrative superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek, subject to 24-hour callback as required for emergencies.
Work is performed in an office where working conditions are normal; however, incumbents are on-site of water back-ups and stoppages due to water meter malfunctions where there may be exposure to inclement weather, extremes of heat and cold, odors or traffic. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION: Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business management, engineering technology, public administration, computer science or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Have four years of experience in water or wastewater distribution, collection, treatment, pumping maintenance or operations, or water meter installation and repair OR in inventory control, information systems, public administration or business management including two years of such supervisory responsibilities as disciplining, evaluating the performance of and recommending the hiring, firing and promoting of others.
NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have an additional experience in the above fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the college or university education.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Install, maintain, and test all transformer rated meters.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Support all SOX Testing for Transmission Assets (Meter and Transducers).
Review all commissioning and acceptance testing on all new IPP, Industrial and Interchange point metering.
Operate packaged meter and recorder software applications.
Provide Technical Assistances and support for metering projects. Certify all Test Kits on an annual basis.
Conduct Meter Training for Field Metering Group. Prepare TRADE and test documentation associated with transformer rated meters.
Be available for outage restoration, such as scouting and refusing.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
High School diploma (some college/tech training preferred) or equivalent experience.

6 years of experience with transformer rated metering is required.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Must have a good safety record and possess a safe attitude. Must have competent computer skills.
Must have competent Mathematics and Trigonometry skills. Knowledge of basic electric circuit analysis, vector I phase relationship. Knowledge of meter terminology is mandatory.
Must be able to program, test, and troubleshoot DNP settings on Landis+Gyr meters. Must be able to interpret transformer test reports, program, and test transformer loss on Landis+Gyr meters. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be able to work in industrial and petrochemical plants. Must be a self-starter, dependable, customer oriented and have the ability to plan and organize.

Perform test functions on electrical, mechanical and optical hardware.
1.) Works from prints, schematics, engineering changes, wiring diagrams, procedures, sketches, and similar documentation of electrical, electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other functional subsystems

Role Summary/Purpose

The Steam Turbine Field Engineer travels to customer sites and support our customers with their installation, maintenance, and warranty work with industrial power generation rotating equipment, primarily Steam Turbines and some Gas Turbines. In order to provide direction to others, this position requires technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams, dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment. The Steam Turbine Field Engineer implements and executing the work under safety and environmental policies, behaving as an example for others and provide full and active commitment in the deployment of the EHS Policies and any additional project-specific written statement or procedure.
Essential Function
Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum of 1 years of experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position
Successful candidates will have a solid understanding of Gas Turbine Operation & Controlling Parameters.

Traveling Mechanical Field Service Engineer
Internationally recognized company currently seeking a Traveling Mechanical Field Service Engineer
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING!
Reports to Controls & Field Service Manager
Liaison between the client, CFE staff and design engineering to provide feedback regarding new designs, repair and maintenance of mechanical issues / on-site performance
Troubleshoot and evaluate mechanical issues witnessed during startup and in service; replace or repair defective parts found during start-up
Other on-site duties may be included in order to prepare for machinery startup.
Support continued service to clients when issues arise, help install upgrades, and servicing plans
The mechanical field service engineer must cross train to learn core duties to assist the electrical field service engineer during startups if needed
Assist controls engineer with installation
Provide feedback to Controls & Field Service Manager to complete post commissioning lessons learned report
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO WIN
Associates or higher in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field experience required.
High personal and professional ethics
Good written and verbal communication skills,
A proven record of producing high quality on schedule work,
A team player with a failure is not an option attitude,
Able and willing to follow instructions,
Follow through on accomplishing assigned responsibilities on schedule with a minimum of supervision,

Multi-craft expertise in electrical, mechanical, controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision
Ability to work well under extreme pressure and able to utilize problem solving techniques effectively.
Respect and understanding of the Customer / Supplier relationship.
Ability to manage direct reports in an efficient and engagement fostering manner.
Ability to be a resource throughout the Group organization, with significant travel.
Proven ability to develop systems, coordinate teams, develop and manage timeline.
