OPEN POSITION ON SECOND SHIFT (3PM - 11PM)
Remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product from discharge unit of printing press or adhesive coating equipment. Review signatures for smearing, register issues, bad folds, etc and notify the Pressroom.
Remove folded signatures from web press and place signatures on pallet or skid for removal to warehouse or binding areas. May adjust stacking mechanism on press according to paper dimensions. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, carts and trays.
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher. May use automated equipment and/or operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. May assist Press Crew with make-ready of the equipment such as retrieving plates, hanging plates, recycling/storing plates etc. May perform in process quality checks of printed materials looking for blemishes, scratches or other print defects.
Good knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic warehouse procedures, and the storage areas in order to be able to place or pull paper stock, signatures and materials in accordance with standard procedures. Able to stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, count and rotate items on/off printing press equipment in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a press operator or supervisor.
May require knowledge of operation of automatic counters and tabulate counts for jobs. Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials. Good skill in the use of manual dollies, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

This position is responsible for picking and packaging customer orders in an accurate and timely manner. This position is for 2nd Shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Proficiently use a hand-held scanner to process orders and control stock going in and out of the plant.
At the beginning of each order, read order notes and instructions and select container type.
Go to specified pick location, find the part number identified and scan (or type in, if necessary) the location code of the first item listed.
Pick the needed product quantity, scan the product label and place the item(s) in/on the container/pallet. If there is no product label, proceed with making/printing a product bar code for one to be scanned in this process.
Continue finding locations/part numbers, picking needed quantities and scanning labels until each item on the order has been packed.
Complete packaging including wrapping pallets, enter number of shipping labels needed, generate customer specific labeling, if specified, affix labels and weigh items/containers.
In accordance with the instructions and weight of the shipment, scan the order into the specific holding area (i.e. Shipping, aisle, customer pick-up) and carry/transport the container(s)/pallet(s) to that area.
Safely operate and maintain in good working order all needed equipment (i.e. forklift, shrink wrap machine).
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
Assist in other areas of the plant as customer/business needs necessitate and/or count inventory for cycle counting or physical inventory.

Where You'll Work: The Savannah plant is a part of the liquid beverage division. We produce nutritional drinks, liquid flavorings, teas, and sauces for Kerry customers and brands. The Wrap Desk Operator is responsible for the operation, cleaning, and light maintenance of the equipment that finishes the product for commercial distribution.

What You'll Need: There are a few requirements you'll need to be safe and successful in this job:
Ability to learn and/or operate the following equipment shear mixers, pumps, processing valves, process controls, & HTST processing
Ability to operate manual and/or electric pallet jacks and forklifts
Provide daily counts on bulk raw materials and work-in-process materials (WIPs)
Ability to calibrate and operate pH meters, refractometers, and titration apparatus
Ability to accurately complete and record all batch tests (Brix, pH, color, flavor, taste, temperature, acidity measure using a titrating apparatus)
Ability to correctly operate manual and automatic valves, which control all bulk materials, dry materials, and dispersion equipment
Support the SQF Food Safety and Quality System thru procedures compliance and training participation
Ability to pass Tetrapak certifications following onsite training and Tetrapak training
Knowledgeable in cold and hot blending process preferred
Knowledgeable in GMP and food safety programs
Must be capable of standing for the whole duration of the shift

The Filler Operator is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through the operation of the filler of various product families following regulatory standards, ensuring the product is clean and sterile.
Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line.
Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product.
Make adjustments to filler timing and filling, & check mat as needed.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing.
Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.
Will have working knowledge and experience with labeler operations; watching for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent downtime due to error.
Perform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient manner.
Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run.
Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.
Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
