Responsibilities Supervise/direct work crew in the processing of scrap metal. Maintain daily work schedule, ensuring team carries out assignments in an efficient and safe manner.
Supervise, train, orient and direct staff of non-technical production subordinates. Proactively identifies safety and production improvements and brings these ideas to the attention of management. Hands-on supervision to include all aspects of shredder operation and maintenance.

Anticipate parts and castings requirements and provide the to the facility manager. Support the facility manager in the scheduling of plant production to include both planned and unplanned maintenance. Routine inspection of all equipment and or machinery, such as: shredder, eddy current; air system, motor, electrical and hydraulic components, cranes, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and any other small equipment and or machinery.Qualifications Ability to develop and implement effective procedures to improve safety, productivity, and efficiency.
Ability to direct and supervise production and maintenance personnel Previous heavy industrial supervisory experience (min. 2 yrs.) preferably in a scrap metal shredding environment. Basic Purpose and Objective of Position
The purpose of this position is to tend to filling equipment, manually and via a computer interface, as well as blend and fill solid and liquid products such as paints, pigments and binders into containers. Working conditions will consist of a paint factory environment that has the potential of exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, heat and noise (ranges 75db to 85db). The job entails intimate interaction with high speed, moving, heated and cooled equipment. Several pinch points exist. There is a high volume of start and stop forklift traffic. It is an indoor job in a semi air-conditioned building, largely protected from outside weather conditions.
Physical requirements are standing for periods of time, sitting, working on a computer, walking, writing, kneeling, crouching and climbing stairs. The employee must have good hearing and good vision, including peripheral vision and depth perception, to determine proper fit and operation of parts and equipment and product cleanliness to eliminate sources of product contamination in the clean up process. The employee must also be able to perform the following tasks:
Ability to work at ease from elevated platforms and access stairways.
Occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds or up to 100 pounds with assistance.
The employee will regularly have to work around moving forklifts, coating factory equipment such as mixing equipment, pumps, filling equipment, etc.

What you will do:
The Cylinder Filler will be responsible for safely handling and filling gas products intoliquid, medical and high pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas. This is a specialty role that requires the ability to fill a multitude of positions throughout the fill plant. The candidate will perform the majority of fill plant positions, "floating" between positions and local fill plants as necessary. The roles will backfill include Fill Plant Operator I/II, Loader, and Cylinder Painter.
Inspects cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards. Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves. Analyzes products for purity and correct mixtures.
Handles high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders. Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels forfilling. Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants. Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.
Assists with the loading & unloading of cylinders on & off pallets and tractor trailers. Operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
Manages paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets as required.
Understands hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Accurately labels cylinders.
Complies with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
Maintains a neat, clean and orderly plant appearance.
