Shredder Maintenance Leadman
General Position Summary &
The Shredder Maintenance Leadman reports to the Shredder Operations Supervisor. The Shredder Maintenance Leadman oversees maintenance of the shredder, and communicates upward with the Shredder Operations Supervisor regarding all repair and maintenance issues. The Shredder Maintenance Leadman also monitors daily duties assigned to equipment operators, pickers, and cleaners within the department, while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include assisting with maintenance reporting and requirements, to minimize downtime and improve overall operational efficiency. The Shredder Maintenance Leadman should possess knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, as well as knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing operational efficiency.
This position operates under flexible parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the position. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively and efficiently decreases accidents and errors and increase profits.

Operational Performance & Best Business Practices
Oversees adherence to schedules, job assignments, and activities in order to run efficiently, at optimal productions rates with minimal overtime.
Directs the day to day maintenance of the shredder and equipment to meet production schedules and to ensure safe, efficient, and cost effective operations.
Provides orderly maintenance of shredding equipment, to avoid work cessations resulting from equipment failure.
Recommends replacement of equipment. Request spare parts to be ordered, and tracks parts used for repair.
Adheres to and/or performs repairs as cost effectively as possible to avoid downtime and equipment breakdowns.
Monitors adherence to established safety programs and goals to reduce accident frequency within department.
Provides guidance to department employees on multiple shifts.
Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
Equipment & Maintenance
Works with the Shredder Operations Supervisor to maintain an adequate wear parts inventory, and issues, tracks, and reorders parts as necessary.
Report all equipment deficiencies or malfunctions for maintenance or repair to the proper supervisor.
Internal Control Responsibilities
Supports the Company's Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating, and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures, and controls to better relate to the business. Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.
The Shredder Maintenance Leadman oversees a group of employees within the Shredder Department.
Direct contact with Shredder Operations Supervisor, and operations production employees, and customers. Face-to-face and radio communication required daily.
This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, and scrap as would be found throughout the scrap yard. Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal protective equipment as needed, must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards. Travel is not required for this position.
Handling multiple issues regarding safety and maintenance increases pressure. Work load may be unpredictable and pressure can be substantial during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable adaptability. Disturbances of work flow and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

Remove copper wire from various vehicle areas.
Dismantle wrecked vehicles by removing parts and labeling and sorting parts into containers.

1.Is responsible for the proper daily operation and complete proper set up of the semi-automatic drum filling operation. This set up includes all proper tank connections prior to the filling operation and all proper tank and line and machine clean outs following filling operation.

12. Repackaging operation is responsible for ensuring that obsolete or shipment damaged products, which have no commercial value, which are also hazardous by virtue of ignitability, corrosivity or reactivity, are segregated for disposal by a hazardous waste contractor. Repacking operation is responsible for
ensuring that such materials are contained in compatible containers in good condition.
13. Must be certain that all openings and closing devices and related equipment are properly secured, and all machine guards in place and lock out/tag out procedures followed.

Trademark Metals Recycling (a wholly-owned subsidiary of DJJ) has an exciting opportunity as a Shredder Supervisor for our facility in Tampa, FL.
1.Supervise/direct work crew in the processing of scrap metal.
2.Maintain daily work schedule, ensuring team carries out assignments in an efficient and safe manner.
3.Supervise, train, orient and direct staff of non-technical production subordinates.
4.Proactively identifies safety and production improvements and brings these ideas to the attention of management.
5.Hands-on supervision to include all aspects of shredder operation and maintenance.
6.Interact with customers, coworkers and peers in a professional manner.
7.Motivate team members to achieve positive results. Provide regular constructive feedback to team members.
8.Anticipate parts and castings requirements, and provide the to the facility manager.
9.Support the facility manager in the scheduling of plant production to include both planned and unplanned maintenance.
10. Routine inspection of all equipment and or machinery, such as: shredder, eddy current; air system, motor, electrical and hydraulic components, cranes, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and any other small equipment and or machinery.
1.Ability to develop and implement effective procedures to improve safety, productivity, and efficiency.
2.Ability to direct and supervise production and maintenance personnel
3.Previous heavy industrial supervisory experience (min. 2 yrs.) preferably in a scrap metal shredding environment.
4.Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
5.Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6.Computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook helpful.
7.Must possess excellent problem solving, organizational and team building skills.
8.Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet production needs.

Job Description: & Requirements
The Filler Operator is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through the operation of the filler of various product families following regulatory standards, ensuring the product is clean and sterile.
Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line.
Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product.
Make adjustments to filler timing and filling, & check mat as needed.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing.
Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.
Will have working knowledge and experience with labeler operations; watching for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent downtime due to error.
Perform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient manner.
Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run.
Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.
Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
Must be able to stand, walk, push or pull for virtually the entire shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally including overhead.
Must be able to work in a wet environment. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).
