- Perform tasks involving physical labor at the construction site.
- Cut, shape, and smooth lumber for slabs on grade, suspended slabs, columns, and vertical slip formed walls.
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures.

A Concrete Finisher is a person with the skill and experience necessary to perform a variety of construction activities relating to the layout, preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete. This position is expected to perform all aspects of concrete work with minimal direction from a crew foreman.
Work relating to the layout, site preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete on a variety of military/government/commercial type construction projects. While not inclusive, the following are some of the typical tasks expected of this position:
- Ground preparation and setting forms to required pitch and depth;
- Cutting/bending/setting reinforcement;
- Spread, level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float;
- Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers and straightedge;
- Cut out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods and place rods to repair concrete, using power saw and drill;
- Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.
- Must be able to follow directions.
- Must be able work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and squat as required for various duties.
- Must adhere to safety requirements as outline in the Employee Handbook.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and supervisors with other duties as required.

Performs a variety of deburring and finishing activities to support the manufacture of medical devices. Typical processes include: bead blasting, pedestal mounted abrasive wheels, tumbling, belt sanding, heat treating, clean and passivation, laser marking and visual inspection of high precision machined parts and components.
Essential Duties and
Demonstrates the ability to perform all activities in finishing department, including but not limited to, Bead blast, Tumbler, Deburr, Heat Treat, Passivation and Laser Marking/Etching.
Detects and reports discrepancies or questionable conditions to the department lead.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Quality System procedures.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience required in shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading, measurement of parts.

Concrete Finisher (Drainage Operations)
Under general supervision, is responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, inlets, retaining walls or curbs to specified textures using hand tools or power tools. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions
Directs the pouring of ready-mix concrete and the operation of automatic curb machine.
Hand finishes fresh concrete and plasters and repairs of old concrete.
Repairs old concrete structures using concrete bonding chemicals.
Prepares concrete mixtures for use in automatic curb machine.
Works from blue prints, sketches, or oral and written instructions.
Prepare estimates of project time and materials.
Assists in the building of concrete forms.
Assists in the training of crew members and helpers in the use and operation of equipment.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
Three (3) years of experience as a journeyman concrete finisher or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in the concrete trade.
Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
Experience in concrete finishing.
Experience building and laying concrete project forms.
Ability to read construction plans, blue prints and drawings.
Experience estimating project costs.

Scan bar codes off packaging into QAD (ERP) as well as the URL bar
Quality check parts under a mantis (magnification) using a digital STL file to ensure the finished parts match the scan.
Anodize parts to fulfill the customer order specifications.
Pack finished pieces into customer packaging and deliver to shipping department

Assist senior personnel in shop and perform semi-skilled duties related to the finishing department. Includes but not limited to wood and metal finishing, painting and coating activities to correct manufacturing methods.
Duties & Functions
Sand, fill, and prime various surfaces to receive wet coatings and finishes to include but not limited to wood, metal, and plastic substrates.
Sand, fill and clean products to a smooth surface to match surrounding surface finish.
Set up sanding and grinding equipment for self and others by selecting the appropriate pads, discs, belts wheels, compounds and fixtures. Prepare and adjust tools and machines for operation.
Set parts on racks or fixtures to achieve proper coatings in a productive manner.
Where defects exist, determines whether to re-sand, fill or prime parts. Specify types of pads, discs, wheels, belts, and compounds to be used.
Monitor finishing activities to ensure correct manufacturing methods are used and department activities are consistent with manufacturing objectives.
Advise finishing personnel about manufacturing methods to ensure compliance with specifications.
Maintain quality production results by following company standards.

To clean the surface of castings using forced air-propelled sand. To prepare surfaces for inspection and/or grinding.
Objective: to remove shell, scale, grinding marks and other material from castings.
Essential Job Functions:
A. Verifies lot and part identification.
B. Loads castings into shotblast cabinet; adjusts air pressure.
C. Operates the sandblast machine from outside the sandblast cabinet.
D. Sandblasts parts in cabinet by directing hand-held nozzles; uses different sized pipes and nozzles, depending on part.
E. Visually inspects sandblast parts to verify removal of materials and uniform color of parts.
F. Operates rotoblast machine; puts parts in machine and turns on.
(This is a marginal job function in Dept. 106.)
Objective: to polish the surface of small parts castings using vibratory and abrasive flow machines to meet customer and PCC specifications.
Essential Job Functions:
A. Reviews part Technique Card for operation.
B. Sets up and loads fixtures and/or parts onto table or machine.
C. Places chemicals into fixture and adds compound and/or water as needed.
D. Inputs cycle times into control panel (of the abrasive flow machine); operates machines.

Objective: to maintain equipment in good working order and maintain a clean work area.
