Structural Fiberglass Finisher
JOB OVERVIEW: The Structural Finisher works in the Finishing department and has a minimum of two years of structural fiberglass finishing skills, including major structural fiberglass repairs and a complete understanding of Boston Whalers construction methods.
General Responsibilities and Duties:
Follow proper safety procedures at all times.
Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area.
Finishing defective parts to meet the quality standards of Boston Whaler.
Work closely with team lead to ensure production goals are met.
Complete appropriate paperwork located in hull construction records.
The structural fiberglass finisher will spend 80 – 85% of his/her job responsibilities completing shaping and fiberglass lamination work, including construction of pillars and dive doors.
Experience and Education:
Minimum of two years of structural fiberglass finishing skills including shaping and fiberglass lamination work
Must have a proven track record.
Must possess the ability to identify and repair structural defects using approved Boston Whaler Tapping process.
Must possess the ability and skills to perform structural fiberglass repairs to meet the quality standards of Boston Whaler.
High school diploma or GED required
Skills and Other Requirements:
Must be very coachable, adaptable, and self-motivated.
Must show an ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Must possess strong organizational skills.
Must be able to work overtime as required to assure timely completion of projects.
Must show an ability to transfer knowledge to line employees through proper training.
Must be able to repair colored gelcoat.
Must possess the ability to;
Repair and Replace non-skid surfaces Identify and Repair laminate / foam delamination, prefab voids, gas bubbles, and structural welds Construct, Shape and Finish dive door including boat opening and dive door Construct and Finish fiberglass pillars to Class A standards Finish structural welds to Class A standards
Physical Requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements could include full face respirators, dust masks, gloves, and chemical resistant suits
Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching
Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment (may be above 100 ambient degrees or below 10 ambient degrees in areas of production)
Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast paced, noisy environment
Ability to work overtime (planned and unplanned)
Shift: This position could be for first shift, 5:00am – 3:30pm or 6:00am-4:30pm, or second shift (4:30pm – 3:00am (Mon-Thurs). Overtime frequently required based on business needs. Boston Whaler reserves the right to adjust shifts and times as business needs arise.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Please note: This is a night shift position, with schedule of either 4:00pm
2:30am, or 5:00pm
3:30am. Depending on level of experience, this position may include a 6-week period of day shift Finisher training.

Position Overview
Repairs fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts using spray gun with paint, buffer with wax, polish, compound, fillers, putty, and/or paste
Hand tools may include gel-coat spray equipment, grinders, buffer, drill, or other specialty tools and fixtures
Responsible for parts inspection and have an understanding of fiberglass finish or basic use of abrasives
Works following specific job instructions, frequently reading and providing verbal and/or written status of part completion
May include handling and application of solvents, paints, pastes, putty, and wax along with proper disposal
Physical Requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements could include full face respirators, dust masks, gloves, and chemical resistant suits
Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching
Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment (may be above 100 ambient degrees or below 10 ambient degrees in areas of production)
Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast paced, noisy environment
Ability to work overtime (planned and unplanned)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Must follow all safety and quality standards at all times, including chemical handling standards and PPE (personal protective equipment)
Fiberglass repair and finishing experience preferred
Understand and follow verbal and written directions
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to use hand, and pneumatic tools, buffer and abrasive sanding tools/supplies
Ability to work with fellow coworkers in close proximity and in a team environment displaying mutual respect
Ability to fluently speak, read, understand, and write English
High school diploma or GED required
Shift: This position could be for first shift, 5:00am – 3:30pm or 6:00am-4:30pm, or second shift (4:30pm – 3:00am (Mon-Thurs). Overtime frequently required based on business needs. Boston Whaler reserves the right to adjust shifts and times as business needs arise.

Full Time Fiberglass Technician
Description
Full-Time Fiberglass Technician
The Facilities Management Division is currently seeking a Fiberglass Technician to complete daily inspections and repair of fiberglass, padding, seat-belts, etc. on the park rides and the fiberglass, padding, netting, etc. on the water park attractions.
In addition to these daily operational duties the technician will work in the fiberglass shop and should demonstrate the ability to work on a high performing team, operational controls, and to effectively grow the organization while ensuring safe operating efficiencies.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Access all areas of equipment and ride structures for inspections and maintenance.
Mixing and application of fiberglass resins, sanding, trimming, etc to make a finished product.
Sewing to make seat belts, upholster seats, and mold padding for the rides.
Ability to work in all types of weather, including but not limited to hot, cold and rain.
Ability to perform various physical acts such as, but not limited to, climbing, crawling, and lifting from various heights above ground level while carrying tools and equipment.
Lift or move heavy equipment for adjustments or repair.
Analyze equipment breakdown situations or problems to determine cause and corrective action to be taken.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS:
Experience in a spray painting, bodywork environment, and some fiberglass experience, preferred.
A strong sense of teamwork and a positive attitude.
Experience in hand tools and power tools.
Must possess a valid State Driver's License and be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to maintain written records.
Adherence to Guest first Standards and a Total Safety culture.
Ability to work a variety of shifts, including early AM, nights, and weekends.

The members of our Coatings team make our products shine. As a Detail Specialty team member at Trinity Industries, you'll operate hand tools or equipment to finish product surfaces, including trimming, grinding, and repair. You'll also install sub-assemblies and parts to finished products.
