Fire Control Mechanic Job Description Sample
Technical Field / Aegis / Fire Control System (Fcs) Bath, ME
Will be responsible for the technical support during integration, testing, and corrective maintenance, of the Mk-99 Fire Control System (FCS) equipment for the Aegis Test Team (ATT) based in Bath, ME.
Proven experience with Aegis Guided Missile Cruisers (CG), or Aegis Destroyers (DDG) desired. At times the position will require shift work, short notice schedule changes, occasional weekend work, and brief at-sea periods while supporting ATT Bath. When not supporting the ATT Bath test program, the successful candidate will be expected to support travel to all locations domestic and international that Aegis ships might operate, providing Mk 99 FCS subject matter expertise.
Travel locations outside of Bath include, but are not limited to: Yokosuka, Japan; Chinhae, South Korea; Rota, Spain; Pearl Harbor, HI; San Diego, CA; Everett, WA; Mayport, FL; Norfolk, VA; and Pascagoula MS.
Will possess a knowledge of the Mk 99 FCS Equipment Group, Mk 99 FCS equipment safety and standard operating procedures, Planned Maintenance Subsystem (PMS) procedures and an understanding of digital, analog, and microwave test practices. The ability to work in a diverse corporate/cultural team environment is required.

Must have proficiency in reading technical documentation and posses both a mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts requiring excellent written and oral communication skills.

Performs specialized inventory control work for ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing parts, supplies, and equipment essential in the timely support of automotive special purpose trucks and equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains computerized inventory maintenance records.
Monitors movement of stocked parts and inventory levels.
Conducts physical inventory of stock parts and supplies.
Ensures part costs comply with bid documents.
Orders stock and non-stock parts through online and outside vendors. Solicits quotes from vendors as needed. Submits warranty claims for parts ordered.
Provides road service repairs and transport as needed.
Performs mechanical repairs.
Monitors and maintains fuel site reports and consumption usage.
Performs State inspections.
Performs all other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
NOTE: You must fill out the work history and education sections of application to show you have years of experience/education as required by hiring department or be disqualified.
High school diploma or GED + Two (2) full-time years of experience with a large company or governmental agency in diversified automotive parts, supply, or inventory control including fleet maintenance technical and mechanical experience.
Must have or obtain State Inspectors License within six (6) months.
Class C driver's license upon hire.
Must have or obtain Forklift Certification within six (6) months.
Knowledge of the acquisition, receipt, storage, and issuance of materials and equipment and proper procedures for supply and inventory operations.
Considerable knowledge of vehicle parts and computerized inventory record keeping.
Must be able to work independently and have good communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departments, County staff, and vendors.
Must have the ability to plan and maintain a supply of parts and materials that will ensure timely and effective support of maintenance requirements.
Must have the ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and State inspections.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing

Thaad Fire Control And Communications Systems Engineer
THAAD Fire Control and Communications Systems Engineer

Parsons is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide support to the THAAD Fire Control and Communications (TFCC) Product Office supporting US and FMS cases with focus on TFCC obsolescence, contracts, future development efforts, risk and production. Manage TFCC FMS contractor performance and execution using documentation and design reviews, Integrated Master Plan and Integrated Master Schedule. Provide manufacturing engineering support including reporting of production status and issues and providing oversight for all production facility manufacturing efforts. Coordinate on FMS TFCC contract deliverables and incorporation of Engineering Change Proposals, retrofits, and obsolescence design changes into the TFCC system. Provide technical expertise to develop TFCC requirements and ensure compliance for future capabilities for both U.S. and FMS customer. Provide timely, thorough and technically accurate responses to FMS customer requests for technical information and performance data.
EXPERIENCE Requirements:
BS/MS degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or related field), and 12+ years of related work experience with at least 9 years' experience as a system engineer.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Capability to use the Microsoft Office package to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project.
Ability to work independently.
Familiarity with MDA Systems Engineering and Acquisition Management procedures.
Willingness to learn new processes and procedures.

About the Position:
The Olympia Fire Department's Fleet Maintenance program is looking for an energetic, eager, team-oriented and customer-focused Fire Mechanic for the Fleet Maintenance program. This group is responsible for sustaining a Regional Repair Facility for Fire and EMS vehicles, small engines, and equipment. The Master Mechanic's responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance on Fire Department and county-owned light duty and heavy equipment, fire apparatus, and department equipment. This is an IAFF represented position.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will:
Work independently, be a self starter, bring enthusiasm and a high level of energy to the position.
Be accountable for producing quality workmanship and completing maintenance tasks and assignments in a safe and timely manner.
Have three years journey-level experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment.

The work requires significant mobility and agility to complete repairs.
Due to large shop doors and the size of some equipment, some work may be performed in damp, cool surroundings.
The work also requires contact with several corrosive solvents and cleaning solutions; hazardous substances such as battery acid; and the inhalation of exhaust.

- Perform installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting to support production manufacturing equipment such as: industrial ovens, environmental testing chambers, furnaces, other equipment. Ensures all equipment performs to customer specifications and records results by performing the following duties:

Able to install, set-up and operate temperature controllers
Ability to complete basic mechanical and electronic operations
Coordinate and participate in testing and/or troubleshooting of equipment to include: connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments.

Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Candidate will support Aegis Weapons System Operations & Maintenance at the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense Test Complex (Pacific Missile Range Facility, HI).
This position will be Single Shift (Mon-Fri): 8 hours/day – must remain flexible for missions and testing. This includes being able to respond to emergency calls during off hours.
The Fire Control Systems (FCS) Field Engineer will be self-motivated and can perform and document MRCs for all FCS equipment.
Responsible for Navy PMS of FCS equipment and associated equipment
Candidate will be able to support "Next Generation" test assets and combat system upgrades
Responsible area of expertise to include plan, brief and execution of tests and targets of opportunity
Responsible for the Fire Control System equipment including the setup configuration and equipment interfaces including:
o Troubleshooting and repair
o Radar alignments
o Preservation
Responsible for proper activation and operation of the FCS Radar System and ORTS computing environments including OE, configuration and computer program operation and interface with other elements.
Identify and resolve equipment and computer program issues.
Analyze element test results and report findings as necessary to support those functional tests involving the FCS System and ORTS
Lead troubleshooting of WCS/FCS equipment, interfaces, configuration and computer program problems and document discrepancies
Responsible for FCS radiation safety processes
Basic Qualifications:
The FCS Field Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the Fire Control Systems is activated, operational, available and properly configured to support testing events. This includes equipment suites, computer programs, OE, setup configurations, equipment interfaces and identification of proper data extraction requirements. Basic skills will include the ability to support energizing and de-energizing FCS radar equipment elements. The candidate will provide equipment assessments via conducting MRC and functional testing.
The FCSC Field Engineer will coordinate identifying, isolating and repairing FC equipment problems. The FCS Field Engineer will ensure safe radiation practices are followed.
1.MMSP: AN/SPY Radar System MMSP equipment suite, setup configuration, equipment interfaces and identification of proper data extraction requirements, SPY Radar System MMSP computing environments including OE, configuration and computer program operation and interface with other elements.
2.SPY/ORTS Systems Field Engineering:

Basic Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology. Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for an Engineering Intern to join our team.
The position provides an opportunity to work on projects that support some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission. Summary:
- Perform installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting to support production manufacturing equipment such as: industrial ovens, environmental testing chambers, furnaces, other equipment. Ensures all equipment performs to customer specifications and records results by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Able to install, set-up and operate temperature controllers
Ability to complete basic mechanical and electronic operations
Coordinate and participate in testing and/or troubleshooting of equipment to include: connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments.
Record maintenance and test data in electronic format, keeping detailed and accurate records and applying statistical quality control procedures; evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Ability to prepare and operate test equipment specific to vacuum leak detection.
Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of machinery, and equipment as identified per Preventative Maintenance Schedules.
Candidate will participate in Daily Tier Meetings to discuss Preventative Maintenance Schedules and various Work Requests to meet the demands and work orders.
Work closely with all levels of employees and functional groups in support of the overall equipment maintenance.
Participate in compliance standards in identifying Continuous Improvement Projects as part of the standard site personnel requirements.
Comply with all safety standards and reporting requirements.
Confer with engineering and other departments to alert them to issues and trends.
Ability to interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience.
Key Factors of Success:
This person must a Team Player and Self Starter who can work with limited or no supervision and do specific outlined tasks and requirements as identified on preventative maintenance schedules.
Must have some basic Microsoft Office awareness of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must be willing to work to standard process and be articulate and thorough in meeting preventative maintenance schedule requirements and documenting them to meet audit and compliance requirements.

What you will do
As a Fire Alarm Designer, you will be responsible for the creation of fire alarm design drawings, tracking submittals and approvals. You will report to the Electronic Design Manager.

You will work as a team player to technically support our sales team, technicians, CAD drafters, and project managers through the delivery cycle. It is important that you understand customer needs in making day-to-day decisions and occasionally take action on changes in customer requirements.

Forest Fire Equipment Operator

The NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provide services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all North Carolinians. The Department employs approximately 2000 employees.
The N.C. Forest Service is charged by state law to provide for the prevention and control of forest fires in any and all parts of the state.
This position does have fire control and emergency response duties. This position is responsible for the operation of a bulldozer in either fire suppression, pre-suppression, prescribed burning, forestation or all or part of the listed task.
The position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a bulldozer, a hauling unit, and other heavy equipment that may be assigned. Must perform minor repairs and assist district mechanic with major repairs.
Responsible for fabrication of assigned equipment as needed. Other duties may include assisting with information and education programs, a variety of forest management activities or other tasks as assigned.
Work may involve travel away from home for extended periods of time. Work hours are typically 8-5, Mon-Fri, but some work functions require evening, holiday, and/or weekend work.
NC Forest Service has emergency response duties mandated by General Statute. Wildfire and disaster/emergency assistance require year round readiness, 24/7 and may require 7-day work weeks, extended hours and on-call/emergency call-back availability. Overnight travel sometimes required.
Environmental exposures are adverse weather, forest pest, falling limbs, hunters, cramped conditions, intense heat, dust, smoke and hazardous debris. Occasional heavy lifting required
