Job Description Uses and follows rules of infection control and sanitation while preparing, serving or storing food products; ensuring that products are dated and labeled correctly. Transports food from the main kitchen to satellite locations as needed, in a safe and sanitary manner.
Picks up carts from satellite locations as needed. Completes all required logs, including but not limited to temperature logs, trip sheets, and fuel purchase logs. Unloads carts/trays/dish racks as required.
Patient food carts are not left in hallway and are emptied/cleaned in a timely manner. Maintain all carts in good condition and ensure they are deep cleaned according to cleaning schedules. Is able to set up dish machine correctly: loading and unloading, breaking down and cleaning.

Understands how to use chemicals appropriate to the task at hand. Knows where the Safety Data Sheets are kept and understands how to read them. Follows proper sanitation procedures washes hands frequently and as required by infection control.
Maintains work area in a clean and organized fashion. Maintains vehicle cleanliness as required and keeps all vehicles filled with gas. Follows unit cleaning schedules and performs other cleaning duties as directed by supervisors or managers.
Assists on tray line as needed; must have basic diet knowledge and ability to read and understand diet information. Follows directions of tray line supervisor to ensure that patients trays are assembled correctly. Uses equipment in the department in a safe manner.
Keeps doors closed; knows Fire Safety procedures, safety rules and regulations and reports incidents or accidents immediately. Reports unsafe conditions or equipment to supervisor.
