We are looking for Winding Operators – Converting for our world class manufacturing facility in Lock Haven, PA.
As a Winding operator you will have responsibilities that include, equipment operation, troubleshooting equipment, process and quality defects, loading raw materials, quality checks and reporting, process improvment, meeting production goals and housekeeping. Winding Operators will assist their team to ensure safety, quality, customer service, housekeeping, and records are maintained according to our high standards, as well as following necessary GMP, FDA and ISO regulations/guidelines.
Loading and unloading parent rolls by operating a 6,000 lb overhead bridge crane (rolls average approximately 3,000 lbs. per parent roll)
Check each parent roll's ticket and scan it into the system for tracking and quality
Load and unload core chucks using JIB lift trucks from stand to the parent roll cores
prepping rolls for web threading and slabbing residual waste paper from spent cores
Maintaing a clean, safe, organized work area
Loading and threading core stock into the core makers
Keeping up with raw material demands by monitoring levels and resupplying the line
Learn and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Properly thread web and clean out any breaks or wrap ups
Conduct product grade change overs
Make adjustments to the machine and process via the HMI computer interface control panel
Perform routine quality checks of the process and product and log them into the system
Constant standing during a 12-hour shift
Ability to work night shift, 7PM – 7AM
Occasional lifting/carrying boxes up to 50lbs.
Constant light grasping and occasional strong grasping
Constant repetitive use of foot and hand controls
Daily sweeping and organizing work areas

STATEMENT OF JOB
The Pre-finisher loads and unloads the conveyor lines by hand with correct number of parts or shells following the production orders and schedules. Parts loaded will be items such as brackets, guards, covers, boxes and small parts and shells of various sizes. Receives supervision for and performs other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.

Must be able to do frequent bending, reaching and hauling of light to heavy weight parts, while properly loading and maintaining minimum production standards.
1.Loads and unloads the conveyor line with Sentry and Red Line shells (2-1/2, 5, 10, 20 and 30) by hand.
2.Keeps accurate count of all parts for purposes of timekeeping, scrap, delay, and parts produced.
3.Inspected all parts for fabrication defects, rust and paint quality, details parts when necessary with small brush determines when parts must be recoated.
4.Maintains communications with Finishers on quality of parts.
5.Monitors temperatures on oven.
6.Occasionally drives a fork lift to position or procure material. Also manually moves boxes and pallets to proper position.
7.Strains used powder paint for reuse by using a scoop.
8.Cleans powder paint booth when needed:
Removes and replaces collector bags.
Vacuums powder paint to silo to remove old powder.
Assists Finisher in cleaning powder paint guns. Also assists in general repair of other powder paint equipment.
9.Performs other maintenance duties when needed such as cleaning the conveyor line, baking oven, the shaker, ductwork, and caulking ovens.
- Performs housekeeping and other related duties as may be assigned by the Paint Department Supervisor.
Machine Operator - Can Line - 2Nd Shift
$18.95 per hour
Position operates one or multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment. This may include moving raw material handling to the production line, and/or filling, capping, sealing, labeling or packaging product. Removes damaged products or supplies, as needed. Position responsible for production, package, and flavor changeovers. Maintains required product inspection processes. Performs basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure production equipment runs efficiently.
Position requires lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling cases weighing 20-45 pounds per case repeatedly over a long work period. This position requires walking or standing most of the time during the shift and may include stooping, crawling and crouching over and under conveyors. This position is located in the UNICOR Furniture Factory at a federal correctional facility. UNICOR is a government cooperation which employs inmates in manufacturing and producing a variety of goods and services for sale to other government agencies.
A primary purpose of this position is to train and supervise inmates in the manufacturing of plastic laminate and wood furniture and other products of various styles and designs. To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements.
Applicants must have had sufficient training and experience to show their ability to perform the duties of the position. Qualifications will be determined by comparing your application to the responses to the Applicant Assessment Questions against the guidelines found in the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, WS-4601 Series.
To qualify for this position, you MUST meet the Barely Acceptable level on both screen-out elements (Ability to supervise) and (Aptitude for work with prisoners); receive at least one half of the total possible points; AND you must furnish detailed information on your resume to support your assessment responses to demonstrate that you clearly possess the experience and skills to successfully perform the duties of this position at the journeyman level. Failure to specifically identify skills equivalent to a journeyman in this field may result in your score being lowered or in being found ineligible for this vacancy.
