Commodity Leader – Pipe, Valve & Fittings / Instrumentation
The Commodity Leader (CL) is responsible for the sourcing and procuring of bulk items associated with the Pipe, Valve & Fittings, and Instrumentation Commodities. The role involves locating, qualifying and maintaining a database of suppliers that provide these commodity items to the chemical process industry. This position will place purchase contracts and minimize the life cycle cost (total cost of ownership) of purchased items through the use of internal alliances, auctions, use of low cost region manufacturers, negotiations, market tests, value creation by understanding the needs, and ensuring compliance for "fit, form and function" of technical specifications. This position will work closely with the capital and plant engineering and maintenance functions to support three primary production facilities and their storerooms and will direct annual purchases of between $10 and $15 million.
The CL will be accountable for mitigating supply risk, maximizing financial improvement and driving innovation with the supply base via the spend managed in their area. The CL will:
Develops short-term and long-term category specific strategies that align with AdvanSix goals for reducing costs and meeting financial expectation, while managing vendor relationships. Drive consolidation of spend and seek out synergies across the organizations where applicable, by forming and leading cross-functional strategic sourcing teams to develop and implement category/commodity strategies and to drive cost from individual spend sub-categories; consults with Sr. Management, and other subject matter experts to develop alternative solutions; advises on options, risks, total cost of ownership, and business impacts; and
Interacts with stakeholders to develop, engage and lead supplier relationships for extracting the greatest value in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, risk management, sustainability, and innovation. Manage the ongoing performance of our suppliers including objective setting and supplier evaluations where warranted; and
Actively seeks ways to streamline business processes; researches and provides information on industry category trends and best practices. Provide procurement input to maximize procurement leverage, optimize project design and minimize project durations and cost; and
Negotiate multi-site national agreements for miscellaneous equipment, supplies, and services.
For funded Capital and Plant activities, the CL shall remain the procurement point of contact and will:
Work closely with the Capital and Plant organizations to develop and later implement procurement plans; and
Minimize purchase price and maximize value of supplies through the use of verbal quotes, Market Basket RFQs, RFQs for single items, RFPs containing Statements of Work, auctions, negotiations, and through an understanding of the industrial supply base; and
Work closely with internal customers to control costs of purchased item to ensure they remain in budget.
Manage SAP automation in areas such as catalog and Outline Agreement (OA) price changes, OA. Create new and maintain OAs, send out OA-RFQs, set up and maintain stores material coded items, and other duties as required; and
Leverage and improve the compliance of spend with preferred suppliers through effective communication with internal customers; and
Professionally resolve problems (both internal and external) including accounts payable differences, in a fair and ethical manner; and
Rate suppliers based on their performance in quality, delivery, and costs. File necessary warranty claims and back charges for non-performance.
Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree required
3+ years of procurement, project engineering or related experience
SAP 4.7 experience and working with a commodity that has a high transactional load
Certified Purchasing Manager endorsement
MBA or post graduate degree
Prior technical or engineering background
Strong teamwork skills
Some contract negotiation experience preferred
Proficiency with computers in the use of database, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation Software
ERP Software experience strongly preferred
Ability to drive to meet goals without direct supervision
Ability to communicate effectively with Executive Management, Operations Management, external contacts such as high-level positions within supplier organizations, and with all levels within the AdvanSix organization including requisitioners

A Cement Finisher Worker does semiskilled work in mixing, placing, and finishing concrete surfaces; and may act as lead worker of a small crew.
Two years of full-time paid experience with the City of Los Angeles working as a helper to a Cement Finisher or Cement Finisher Worker; or
Two years of full-time paid experience in placing and finishing concrete.

The multiple-choice test will be proctored and administered on-line during a single session. Candidates invited to participate in the on-line multiple-choice test will be able to take the test from a remote location using a computer with a webcam and a reliable internet connection or will have the option to take the test onsite at a City facility. Candidates will receive an e-mail from the City of Los Angeles outlining the dates and specific steps on how to take the multiple-choice test on-line. Pattern Finisher - Ssbo/116
To prepare patterns for assembly and to prepare soluble cores for pattern molding; wax welds multiple components using fixtures to maintain dimensional conformity; repairs wax patterns and soluble cores in accordance with quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Objective: to assemble pattern components and/or make dimensional alterations to patterns.
A. Reads techcards and engineering instructions.
B. Assembles wax components into visually and dimensionally acceptable patterns; may use specialized fixturing.
C. Modifies patterns or soluble cores using various hand tools and wax materials.
D. Inspects modifications with special gauges and other measuring devises.
E. Occasionally inserts ceramic cores in wax patterns and maintains dimensional integrity (TBO only).
Objective: to fix broken or damaged patterns and soluble cores and restore to dimensionally acceptable condition.
A. Replaces broken features by wax welding fragments or by using other wax supplies to reconstruct missing areas.
B. Fills voids and reforms damaged contours by attaching and shaping stock wax.
Objective: to work patterns and soluable core surfaces to meet visual inspection criteria.
A. Removes flash, mismatch and other surface positives using a variety of hand tools and materials.
B. Fills or patches negatives using paint wax, melted stock wax, hot pencils and other tools and materials.
C. Completes dimensional integrity restoration and plugging of holes per techcards.
D. Inspects work for compliance with quality standards.

Summary: Supervises the inspection materials and finishing process for compliance with engineering drawings and company specifications before assembly into a manufacturing process machine. Approves items within specifications for transport to assembly or storage area and recommend disposition of items not meeting standards.

Moog Aircraft Group is seeking a reliable and independent Finisher B to perform various bench and machine operations (cleaning, polishing, breaking edges, etc.) at our East Aurora, NY Moog location.
Perform required bench and machine operations to clean, polish, break edges, form radii, blend defects, reprove contamination, remove excess material, remove flash, and detect unusual defect in material or workmanship
Ability to work from operation sheets, blueprints, sketches, and plastic bodies to plan entire sequence of work performed
Ability to select, sharpen, and/or make special tooling as required, as well as selecting lighting aids, inspection gages and visual magnification as required in order to meet quality specifications
Excellent visual acuteness and eye/hand coordination are required to perform the job
Exceptional attention to detail in order to visually inspect one's own work to ensure that parts meet the quality and quantity required, as well as being able to detecting abnormalities and reacting them
Ability to work with small parts in order to perform all finishing and detail work on parts
You must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus over 3 months of related experience.
- In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company's "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.

Picture Framing Finisher & Fitter Wanted
At Indiewalls we are in the process of building out our own printing/framing/production facility and are seeking applicants for full time and/or part time work. This person would be involved in cutting, joining, fitting, packing and other job relating to the production of framed artworks.
At Indieworks is a subsidiary of Indiewalls. At Indiewalls we're enabling brands like Google, Hilton, and Starbucks to source art from a community of thousands of independent artists around the world.
The responsibilities may include:
- Fine art mounting with vacuum mounting, hot and cold roller mounting.
- Woodworking, frame making/finishing and crate building.
- Art handling, frame fitting/packing, mat cutting and canvas stretching.
- General lumber milling, construction of work tables and built in equipment housing.
- Operation of heavy machinery, forklift operation, working/painting from scaffolding and general building maintenance.
- Workers would start at an entry level assisting through out and work into a more fixed position when best fit is determined.
- Applicants would be expected to have a few years of experience in a related field but would not be expected to be a master of the above stated responsibilities.

Drywall Installer & Finisher
Your duties may include the following:
Measuring, cutting and fitting drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings
Positioning and securing drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs
Cutting and installing metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
Filling joints, holes and cracks with compound using a trowel and broad knife
Smoothing out excess compound and sanding over dry compound
Must have background with maintenance and construction as well as tile install
Previous experience in drywall repair/installation (minimum of 3 years)
Other construction/maintenance knowledge is a plus
Familiar with tools and equipment
Ability to handle physical workload
Ability to work well in teams
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Must have reliable tools
Must be able to work after hours/overnight
Highly motivated, self-starter who's flexible and has a great attitude
Able to pass a Criminal background check, drug test, and possess a clean driving record and current driver's license
