East Kentucky Power Cooperative, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fixed Asset and Capital Project Accountant at our Winchester, Kentucky headquarters. This position is responsible for maintaining the Company's fixed asset and project costing subsidiary records and preparing the annual property tax return. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, the ability to analyze complex financial data, explain account variances, and ensure the proper, accurate, and timely completion of various financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the requirements of various regulatory agencies (RUS, FERC, Kentucky Public Service Commission), and the policies East Kentucky Power Cooperative.
Maintains the PeopleSoft Project Costing and Asset Management modules.
Ensures compliance with the RUS Uniform System of Accounts, company policy, and internal controls related to the cost accounting process.
Reviews proposed projects, assigns project identification numbers based upon project type, and maintains all related activity in PeopleSoft Project Costing.
Maintains all detailed fixed asset records including, but not limited to, additions, depreciation, retirements, transfers, and adjustments.
Analyzes, prepares, and processes accounting entries for all asset transactions, including depreciation.
Reconciles the fixed asset module and capital project balances to the General Ledger.
Prepares the annual property tax return and validates county tax assessments.
Prepares all internal and external reports related to fixed assets and projects.
Provides analysis, supporting schedules, or documentation as needed for the annual independent audit and regulatory compliance audits.
Cross-trains in other areas within the department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Certifications/Licenses:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related area required. Accounting degree preferred, but if in related area, a minimum of 18 hours of college level accounting is required.
- Five (5) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of FERC and RUS accounting requirements preferred.
Knowledge of Excel and PeopleSoft applications.

Sr. Sales Assistants are focused on client service, and are responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all trades conducted by Fixed Income traders settle smoothly, and keeping track of failed trades so that they can settle in a timely manner. Sales Assistants also complete account maintenance work, including opening new accounts, updating account information and following up on required documentation.

Fixed Asset Accountant
Under the direction of the Fixed Assets Supervisor, the Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for reviewing, updating and monitoring capital projects and fixed assets for assigned divisions in a timely manner. Maintains and is responsible for the accuracy of assigned accounts through the performance of monthly reconciliations/analyses. Completes departmental reports monthly per established guidelines. The individual has a good working knowledge of Sonoco's asset management system, capital policies and procedures necessary to maintain the Company's fixed asset ledgers or the person has prior experience in fixed asset management for a manufacturing company. The individual possesses the necessary commonly used technical and accounting skills to perform the job on a daily basis with a moderate level of supervision.
Process capital authorization application requests; includes assignment and communication of project numbers, establishing project and tasks in Oracle Projects, loading of capital budget in Oracle Projects.
Review, update, process and monitor Oracle Fixed Asset activity. Includes both Oracle capital projects and fixed assets related activities.
Prepare monthly/quarter end reconciliation of Oracle GL balance sheet and P&L to Oracle capital projects and fixed assets and related legacy activity. (Interim & NFAs).
Prepare and support reconciliations / analyses of fixed asset and CIP accounts, identifying variances and preparing / posting correcting JEs
Ensure divisional adherence to Corporate capital policy.
Provide capital projects and assets support to assigned divisions.
Prepare monthly divisional capital reports. Experience with report writing software. Ability to learn and utilize current report writing software to create reports as needed.

Role: Product Manager ("PM") for Fixed Income Indices. Over the past several years, S&P DJI has expanded its family of indices with the purpose of becoming a benchmark provider across all major asset classes. This breadth of offering allows us to attract and keep new clients, as well as offer multi-asset class indices.
The PM is the chief spokesperson and product strategist for fixed income indices and will highlight their benefits in client meetings, at seminars, conferences, and in the media. Responsible for the accurate and timely recording of fixed assets. Area of responsibility will include accounts related to construction in progress as well as normal capital expenditures. Aircraft Mechanic III (Maintenance Control - Fixed Wing)
The Aircraft Mechanic III (Maintenance Control) is required to Release Aircraft Safe for Flight, monitor maintenance SCIR documentation via the NALCOMIS /OOMA systems, review Aircraft Weight and Balance forms for accuracy, direct scheduled/unscheduled maintenance actions to meet operational tasking identified by the government/flight schedule, brief aircrew prior to Functional Check Flights (FCF), review aircrew documentation of aircraft FCF performance, authorize cannibalization, coordinate Depot Level Inspection/Repair actions, assign workload priorities, manage awaiting maintenance and material status, manage T/M/S Aircraft configuration, screen, maintain and sign Aeronautical Equipment Service Records, Aircraft Logbooks, liaison with Quality Assurance, liaison with Projects Coordinator, understand Navy Working Capital Fund concept, notify Govt. Oversight QAR's of all Flight Critical, Safety of Flight, and mandatory QA inspections, monitor high time components, establish supply priorities, and coordinate work center maintenance tasking to meet daily Flight Schedule and Ground Test Requirements. Coordinate monthly maintenance planning meetings and publish/sign monthly maintenance plan in accordance with the current COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series.
Direct, coordinate and monitor all maintenance/material actions necessary to service, repair and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness to include tasks that are complex to extreme difficulty.
Direct and Coordinate the repairs, replacement and rebuild aircraft structures of complex to extreme difficulty.
This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
Direct and coordinates the inspections of airframe components for fluid leaks, cracks and other damage.
Release Aircraft Safe for Flight, monitor maintenance SCIR documentation via NALCOMIS/OOMA system, review Aircraft Weight and Balance Forms for accuracy, direct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions.
Troubleshoot, remove, replace and repair aircraft structural and hydraulic system components. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft systems.
Knowledge & Skills
Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural, power plant, modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical guidance and expertise in restoration of equipment condition and operation.
Reads and interprets manufacturers' publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Experience & Education
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have completed the Navy Class "C" for Maintenance Material Control Management or equivalent.
Shall have completed the maintenance control school, or have maintenance control experience for a minimum of five years at the Organizational Level in the applicable T/M/S aircraft.
Shall have a minimum of 10 years of US Navy or USMC Organizational level aircraft maintenance experience, to include 1 year applicable to aircraft they will be supporting
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must have a valid drivers' license and be eligible to qualify for and able to maintain a secret level clearance.
Recent experience with F-18A-F, EA-18G, MH-60S or AV-8B aircraft strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
May work in aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
