This Senior Technician position will support Flame and Gas engineers by fabricating new designs in the machine shop, in addition to performing functional tests for new product design and continuation engineering projects.
Work with a team to develop, fabricate, and assemble designs from engineering drawings and/or CAD software
May perform design and drafting activities as required
May design and assemble FCT/ICT fixtures for test
Operate CNC lathe, mill, etc. in the machine shop located in house
Participate in design reviews
Performs advanced troubleshooting, calibration, failure analysis or modification of test hardware, fixtures, and lab equipment.
May develop and document procedures and prepare formal reports
Provide technical support to product management, manufacturing, and other functional groups
Plan, execute and evaluate physical tests, tests will involve testing with combustible and toxic gases
Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
Qualified candidates must have 1800 hours of technical school.

Physicist 5 - Senior Quantum Annealing Experimentalist
The Engineering, Sciences and Technology (ES&T) organization of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking talented Physicists to develop state-of-the-art next generation superconducting electronics and advanced computing technologies.
Qualified Physicists will have an opportunity to conduct fundamental research and innovative experiments involving superconducting quantum annealing circuits as part of the IARPA Quantum Enhanced Optimization (QEO) program. The program goals include achieving breakthrough, super-classical performance and designs leading to speedups of 10,000-fold and beyond. Employees will be stationed on site at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, MA and will collaborate with multiple universities.
Responsibilities may include:
Leading a team conducting cryogenic experiments on advanced superconducting quantum annealing circuits and test beds
Collecting and analyzing data
Debugging of experiments
Developing novel measurement methods and software
Developing test plans, schedules and strategies
Collaborating with Northrop Grumman designers and device theorists, university partners, and government-furnished foundry staff
Traveling to Northrop Grumman sites, program meetings, and conferences

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Installs molds in presses and makes all necessary hook-ups, settings and adjustments in accordance with the established process paperwork.
Cycles the machine after set-up to ensure proper operation. Runs parts, making any necessary final adjustments until a quality trim sample is produced.
Completes mold changes and obtains quality approved parts within the established guidelines.
Performs all tasks associated with making the necessary material changes for a new job, if needed.
Ensures all required secondary tooling is set-up at the machine and properly adjusted for each new job, if needed.
Cleans and polishes molds as needed.
Makes basic machine and mold repairs.
Performs basic maintenance functions as they relate to die sets.
Maintains required documentation on a daily basis.
Maintains housekeeping in designated work areas.
Experience and thorough familiarity with molding machines and associated equipment. Product knowledge and thorough understanding of the various molding processes. Understanding of quality standards. Ability to obtain a hi-lo license and crane license and operate a hi-lo and crane safely.

Lead Die Setter
Responsible for the set up and maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic presses used for the powdered metal operations of compacting and sizing. Must use the proper dies, tools and automation required and make all necessary adjustments, to ensure that quality parts are being produced at designated production levels.
Also, to help facilitate daily production, activities and needs of a value stream while assisting the Shift Supervisor. To be a working leader, mentor and lead example for all operations employees.
Assist in facilitation of daily production
Setup and maintain correct adjustments on several presses
Assure that the proper tools and dies are placed into the press
Perform visual inspection of parts for cracks and chips several times during the shift
Accomplish the setup in a timely manner
Communicate with shift supervisors, machine operators and quality department, changes / adjustments made to the presses
Maintain and clean tools, as needed
May work as an operator at times to ensure press is working properly
Attend meetings and training classes
Any other duties assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Engineering
