Main responsibilities are to use a oxyfuel CNC flame cutting machine with a Burny control.

- loading steel onto machine to be cut
- helping unload steel deliveries, moving large plates of steel from the truck to where it is stored

3M is seeking an Application Engineer for the Personal Safety Division. The position may be located remotely in the United States.
The person hired for the position of Application Engineer will be responsible for providing customer facing sales and technical expertise to Americas based customers, distributors, 3M personnel, and new product development teams primarily for 3M’s Personal Safety Division (PSD) focused specifically on fixed and portable gas and flame detection products. Provide input to product development teams including proper use scenarios and communicating customers’ needs.

Autodesk Flame Engineer
Flame support / pipeline integration:
• Day-to-day support of Flame/Flare/Flame Assist systems (eg. putting out fires and forming solutions/troubleshooting under pressure)
• Maintain archiving of systems and keep framestores clean and at-the-ready for any large jobs that may suddenly appear. Work with assists to maintain framestores.

NDT Level II
Employ Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, X-Ray and/or Nondestructive Test Operations to inspect castings to required techniques and specifications. Read X-Ray film to identify casting defects and by severity of defect, as applicable. There are seven levels within this position, which are differentiated by education, experience, independence, certification and responsibility to lead and direct others. Must pass a Level II in Liquid Penetrant testing and/or Magnetic Particle testing AND Level II Radiographic testing.
Tools and Equipment:
X-Ray machines, film developing unit, black light lamps, densitometers, film step wedges, penetrameters, shim blocks, light meters, Geiger counter, guass meter, film viewers, various dip tanks containing emulsifier, penetrant, water, oil, magnetic particle and other solutions, drying unit, powder application unit, baskets, timers, magna flux unit, demagnetization unit and degreaser unit. Cast metal parts is the primary product to be tested. Ceramic Cores and other like material may also be inspected.
