Tank Shop Operator (2Nd Shift)
Eaton in Nacogdoches, TX is seeking a full-time Tank Shop Operator to work 2nd shift.
Primary Function: Sets up, adjusts and operates various welding machines, presses shears, brakes, flangers and expanders. Set up, tear down and maintain equipment and fixtures; Performs layout, tack weld, and other tasks that may be required in tank fabrication
Performs work in some or all of the following work centers:
Bottom welder (includes perf. LVB holes)
Projection welder (includes perf. LVB holes)
Seam welder (includes flanging)
Layout (includes rod stack)
Attends work on a regular basis.
Ensures compliance with all safety, housekeeping practices, company policies and procedures.
Performs routine machine and equipment keep up.
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Nacogdoches, TX will be considered
Familiar with manufacturing safety protocols and strive for quality
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Works from oven pick list, PQP, NFOI, JSA and verbal instructions.
Operates various welding equipment (rod stack) and machines, and utilizes various manual and powered hand tools.
Uses simple measuring devices.
Manually handles material in the medium-heavy weight range.
Operates hoist and other material handling equipment.
May operate powered industrial truck.
Work in the area may be affected by heat, fumes, and noise produced by the operations.
Must be able to read and comprehend written materials such as safety, quality, and operating instruction and perform basic math functions
Physically able to perform the essential functions of the job and wear PPE
Crown Cork & Seal's North American Beverage Packaging Division has openings for Production Mechanics at their new manufacturing facility located in Nichols, New York. This facility will manufacture aluminum cans for the beverage industry.
This position will trouble-shoot, repair, adjust and maintain all related equipment involved with running production at this high-speed state-of-the-art metal packaging manufacturing facility. This would include operation of equipment as well as identifying areas of spoilage and taking appropriate corrective action to resolve the issues. Equipment would include body makers, printers, washers, spray equipment, neckers and flangers as well as other production machinery. This position will also develop standard operating procedures; provide training for equipment operation and reinforce all safety procedures.
A high school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years working experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
An Associates/technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification (journeyman card, technical license, etc.).
Strong proven working experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting skills and equipment re-build expertise are required for these roles.
Experience in using controls and settings on high-speed automated equipment.
High competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related equipment.
Strong math and computer skills.
This position also requires the individual to be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and parts specifications.
Effective and proven communication skills working in a team environment.
Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening.
Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion
