Job Description:
The Tool & Die Maker will support the manufacturing team and production floor. This role is hands-on in the cells developing tooling, and fixturing as well as operating. This associate will work with the team to close associate suggestions, implement productivity improvements, and implement kaizen actions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Adhere to all safety programs and policies.
Set up and operation of Tool Room machines (CNC & non-CNC), tools, and equipment including manual mills, lathes, band saw, and surface grinder to fabricate complex tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and components to support design and production needs.
Mechanical aptitude to trouble shoot cell tool and fixture problems and implement solutions.
Support new product introductions through fixturing concepts, design, and creation.
Be able to machine to tight tolerances with exceptional quality
Support plant engagement through completion of employee suggestions.
Helps train cell operators in the proper use of equipment.
Helps perform preventative maintenance of fixturing and tooling within the plant.
Support Manufacturing team to develop productivity and quality improvements.
Perform duties of similar complexity as assigned by the Facility Manager and communicates essential information to the Facility Manager as required.

Departmental Overview
Residential and Student Service Programs (RSSP) is part of the Division of Student Affairs under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor of RSSP. RSSP provides student housing, residential life programs, self-operated dining services for undergraduate and graduate students and their families, and child care services for students, faculty, and staff; it also conducts a year-round conference business, operates eleven campus restaurants, and manages twenty-six faculty apartments. The Central Maintenance, Design, and Minor Capital Projects units provide a comprehensive group of services to all units within RSSP. These services include performing or managing all building trades and related maintenance services, performing interior design services, space planning, renovation project planning and management services, major maintenance, minor capital planning and project management for RSSP.
This Lead journey level position performs all aspects of finish carpentry and cabinet making including fabrication, installation, repair of doors, door frames, cabinets, all types of casework including counter tops, customer service desks, mail distribution centers, food service casework, cash register stands, replication and installation of wood windows, interior paneling, molding, trim work, stairs, and related finish carpentry for all RSSP facilities. Incumbent also performs general carpentry and related work including framing, modifications, demolition of existing installations.
This position directs the activities of a journey level Carpenter-Locksmith position forming a two person finish carpentry projects team.
Responsibilities
Under supervision:
Serves as working lead, performing work of a lead finish carpenter coordinating projects, scheduling and assigning work, transmitting orders, explaining tasks to co-workers and maintaining time and material records, performing accurate material takeoffs, specifying, purchasing materials, and estimate required Staffing levels for specific projects and project completion times.
Develops designs for casework installations, develops project work scopes for installations and repairs in all aspects of finish carpentry

Finish Carpentry Responsibilities
Carpentry work includes, but is not limited to:
Troubleshoot, repair, fabricate, construct, and install counters, cabinets, cabinet doors, drawers, hardware, shelving, plastic laminates, solid surface materials, partitions, floors, stairs, decks, and railings.
Installation, repair, fabrication where necessary of all types of doors, frames, and door hardware.
Performs all types of finish carpentry work related to alterations, additions, and repairs of existing RSSP buildings, such as, but not limited to: removal and demolition work, erection of wall framing, door and window installations, casework fabrication, modifications, installation of drywall, ceilings, trim, etc.

Correctly and safely performs carpentry work using all hand and power tools typical of the trade.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUMMARY: Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot dies in tool room and punch press. Perform timely and accurate changeovers per production requirements.

Perform basic maintenance on existing dies; perform both planned and unplanned work within estimated times
Troubleshoot basic die problems in the tool room and in the press
Perform minor revisions and upgrades to dies
Perform changeovers on dies to satisfy production requirements
Proficient operation of all machines and tools necessary to perform die repair functions
Complete paperwork including daily time cards, opening/closing a work order, completing tool room checklists
Move parts and dies by hand, a hand truck, or a power truck
Follows the Quality Management System requirements in the tool room and suggests ways for continual improvement.
Promptly reports quality problems and shuts down the equipment if unable to resolve.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Follows EHS rules and regulations, participates in safety meetings and CBT, and suggests ways for continual improvement.

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Vertical cutter, sandwich wrappers, slicer, steam-jacketed kettles, food choppers, mixers, blenders, knives, peelers, shredders and like specialty tools.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1.Cleans fruits and vegetables, removing inedible portions; peels, dices, shreds or slices as required. Properly prepares and stores all produce to ensure maximum shelf life. Mixes ingredients for a variety of salads and salad dressings; cuts and portions; arranges attractively and adds garnishes; wraps and labels; stores; rotates and discards food as directed.
2.Assembles ingredients; processes and portions special food products required for patient feeding. Assures that serving areas (salad bars) are supplied, garnished and adequate refills are prepared.
3.Plans and prepares for following day/days.
4.Cleans utensils, equipment and work areas; maintains prescribed standards of sanitation, safety and housekeeping in assigned work area.
5.Reviews computer-generated recipes as a guide or receives instruction from the FPM concerning type and quantity of food to be prepared and size of portions; plans work to meet cooking and serving schedules.
6.Processes, measures and mixes ingredients for making a variety of sandwiches such as chicken, tuna and egg salad; portions roasted/baked meats by slicing; makes sandwiches as ordered; labels sandwiches for display and places on trays.
7.Records amounts of food left over or not served and records additional food items prepared.
8.Mixes ingredients and prepares a variety of desserts for patient and staff meal service; arranging them attractively and adding garnishes.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to read and write English and understand and follow oral and written instructions plus 6 months experience in a commercial food service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to lift items weighing approximately 40-50 pounds.

Job Description & Requirements
The Cheese Maker is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through batching and processing of various product families following regulatory standards, ensuring the product and process is clean and sterile. The Cheese Cook is also responsible for maintaining and cleaning all equipment in assigned area.
Familiarity with all applicable cheese making equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items.
Test, monitor and batch all products in accordance to established procedures and policies.
Ensure curd is over and processed as soon as possible to protect curd freshness and texture.
Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.
Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.
Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
6 months related experience required.
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Must be able to able lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift.
Able to work in a cold and wet environment for prolonged periods of time.
Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Offset Plate Maker - 2Nd Shift

Quad is currently seeking an Offset Plate Maker at our facility on Glendale Drive in New Berlin. Responsible for manufacture of offset printing plates for large format sheet fed printing presses. The job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform machine set-up, including accessing job files via computer.
Output plates using a computer-to-plate system.
Replenish plates, solutions, and perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
Read and understand job tickets. Complete necessary job paperwork.
Communicate effectively with supervisor, press operators, prepress operators, CSR's, scheduling, and co-workers.
Clean and maintain work area.
Assist in Pre-Press Department.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
HS diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 3 years prepress experience and/or vocational/technical degree.
Knowledge of all aspects of Plate Making including the Prinergy workflow.
Previous CTP operational experience and working knowledge of imposition software a plus.
Must be self-motivated, organized, reliable, and quality oriented.
Ability to apply written instructions to job set-up.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds, reaching, bending, walking, standing, stooping, pulling and pushing with or without reasonable accommodations.
Knowledge of electronic prepress and digital printing a plus.
Position is for Second Shift – 3pm to 11pm with overtime and weekend hours as required.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

Researchand develop, design and construct all varieties of highly intricate tools,dies, jigs, fixtures and gauges from verbal instructions or physical partrequirements where fitting and interchangeability of parts requiremaintenance of extremely close tolerances or fits.
Outstandingingenuity to determine metal flow in dies, select allowance, performdifficult development work, make tool tryouts, perform closely withengineering, and supervisors to solve intricate metal working problems.
