Position Specific Functions
Oversees floral design program, providing the highest level of customer service and design expertise.
Utilizes design knowledge and creativity to make custom arrangements and assist customers in product selection. Confers with customers regarding specifications and preferences.
Responsible for all special and custom orders. Works with department management team to grow business and establish department as a destination for special events.
Builds displays and arranges department products to make attractive presentations, highlighting featured/unique/seasonal items.
Demonstrates excellent knowledge of floral products and plants, with skills to continue learning. Educates customers on care and handling of floral and plant products.
Demonstrates an awareness of trends in the industry.
Completes customer special orders thoroughly and provides follow-through as needed.
Works with department management team to plan for current ads, promotions, holidays and events. Ensures product selection and mix meet customer needs and merchandising standards.
Works with department management team to ensure orders meet needs of the department and writes orders as needed. Provides feedback on quality and quantity issues.
Maintains professional vendor relationships.
Processes, waters, cuts, conditions and cleans flowers and foliage for display and storage.
Identifies, removes and logs products that do not meet quality standards.
Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.

Performs janitorial tasks in compliance with sanitation standards established by store policy and state and local health departments. Contributes to store cleanliness.
Maintains equipment, informs store/department management of any problems.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:
Standard tools and equipment used in a floral environment including computer, underwater cutter, wire cutter, pricing gun, dosetron, scissors, knives, pick machine, register system, helium tank, and telephone.
Has daily contact with the general public, customers, suppliers/vendors and FTD and Teleflora.
Maintains confidentiality on orders placed (including, who sent, who received, order, and cost).
Designer - Floral Creative
The primary responsibility of the Creative Designer Floral is to design and maintain the overall look of the Hotel Floral Décor as well as participate in the day to day operation of the Floral Dept. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort's policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create unique trend setting arrangements
Creates & Execute floral designs for all areas of the Property
Research and keep up to date new trends in floral/horticulture displays
Set up designs for various events, weddings and hotel areas
Collaborate with management on special events and seasonal décor installation
Prioritize work and be self sufficient
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Maintain designs in designated areas to ensure property standards
Provide outstanding customer service
Attend required safety and department training classes
Works in an appropriate non-hazardous manner avoiding self-injury and unsafe work methods
Receive floral product, checks quality control, & organizes product
Must be able to Drive/Operate company Vehicles & Equipment
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

10 years of experience in Floral Industry
3 years of experience in Hotel Floral Design/Work
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Principles of Floral Design & Flower Knowledge
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to:
Lift or carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Operate company machines/lifts
Work in various heights
Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
